Description

Kick off with an exciting khlong boat ride down to a secret district within Old Bangkok, rarely visited by foreigners. Get set for Bangkok's tastiest food tour. This tour is only available to 8 exclusive guests each day. We'll jump in a tuk tuk, and then take a walking tour to some of Bangkok's most interesting cuisine, found in one of the city's oldest markets. Your guide will lead you to the best street food chefs that have been going for decades, family owned eateries that are catering to the crowd of hungry locals. Get your taste buds buzzing with crispy hoi tod, crispy pork belly, zingy kanom buang yuan salad, and a 'flavour bomb' of leaf-wrapped miang kham. Get stuck into delicious Thai curry, and over a dozen more lip-smackingly good delicacies. It's not all eating though. Between courses, you'll discover the remnants of Bangkok's oldest cinema, and venture to where royal dessert recipes are made. Forget pad Thai on Khao San Road, and dive into the real cuisine of Thailand.

อาหารนี้อร่อยมาก

The food tour was amazing, our guide Pang was so cool and explained not only the food, but the history of the neighborhoods, culture and people of Thailand. I can’t recommend it more… Pang also needs a raise because she went above and beyond to make mine and two other gentlemen’s experience a wonderful one!

Food glorious food!

We did the old siam food tour with Annie and Phee Phee as our guides. They were amazing and so knowledgeable and such fun to be with. All the food stops were great - our favourites were the Tom Yum, mussel omelette and the aubergine salad stops. Annie was so accommodating as neither my brother or I eat pork. We were spoilt rotten with food substitutions and never felt like we missed out because of our dietary requirements.

The most memorable experience in bangkok

First of all this is my second time in Thailand. I don’t usually go on tours so I didn’t expect to be so surprised by this one specifically but honestly this was the best tour I could ever go on. We got to experience how the locals use transportation if it was with tuk tuk canal boat bus or by walking. We got to experience authentic real Thai food in places Thai residence go to and just the getting there and passing by the little streets and stores and people.. this made me enjoy all the different Thai meals. They also gave us meals that were our first time trying them and 20/15 meals if you really count. The guides, what can I say? The energy, the smiles, helping me with my kid. The expanded explanation, the goal of wanting us to be happy. I really do advise this tour for anyone who wants a good and different experience in Bangkok then what the tourists are doing. Thank you!

Original & typical experience

One of our best experiences in Bangkok thanks to Naem who shared Thailand's culinary culture with us. We tasted more than 15 different dishes in typical places frequented only by locals. Bonus - to get around we took two tuk-tuks and a boat on the klongs which makes the experience even more typical!! Thanks to her for her kindness. Bonus - since I don't eat meat, she managed to find an alternative every time! The price might be surprising for Thailand but it is really worth it!

Authentic Thai food.

We did the tour that started at 10 AM. The pick up point was fairly convenient although it could be a bit more specific as the department store had more than one entrance (thankfully not that far apart). We went to multiple locations, tasted many types of Thai food, all delicious! The guides were very organized, with one of them acting as an advance scout going to the next stop so we didn't wait long to be seated and served at each stop. The main speaking guide did a good job explaining the background of the food, context of the street vendor/market/restaurant. Some places had no English signs, so places where I would not ever have known about otherwise. Transportation between stops by public transportation also well coordinated. Warning to pace yourself with the food, so that you're not full only 60% through! Unlimited water provided. The guides will warn you about spiciness. Small group made it interesting as well, sharing experiences with other travelers. Drop off location was different from the starting location, so that needed some advance planning on how you want to go to your next destination.

Must do food tour

We had a very good time learning local Thai culture and cuisines. The foods we eat and places we visited were authentically Thai, exactly what we were looking for. Our tour guides were Annie (who was very informative) and Koi they did a great job and we were the only customers on that tour so our tour was private LOL. We started with taking the canal boat, walking through a market, taking tuk tuks and more. Thanks !
