Not a Typical Cruise: Max 10, Bites, Drinks, Local, Personal

Description
This is NOT a standard canal cruise. Skip the crowds: max 10 guests, local captain as your personal guide, quality drinks and Dutch bites. No big groups or scripts—just real stories, truly different. With our unique 100% electric 100+ year old boat Giuliana that has both an inside and outside area, has a toilet and is heated in the winter, we will provide an intimate 2-hour cruise. We will pass all the highlights that Amsterdam has to offer, including the world-famous canal belt, the river Amstel, the old city (red light district), the maritime area and places where large tour boats cannot go. Along the way we will make a stop to pick up some traditional Dutch fried snacks and we have a cheese platter and Dutch cookies on board while you are enjoying a wide variety of (non) alcoholic drinks including a local spirit (Jenever), Cava/Prosecco and G&T.

Amazing canal boat tour that took us to not only the major sites on the canal but out of the way places too. Great snacks, drinks and conversations with a small group of folks from around the world!
Relaxing, love the small group setting! Our flight landed in Amsterdam at 5pm and we were on the boat at 7pm—a great first view/experience of the city! There was apparently less boat traffic than usual so we were getting through quicker than usual. Because of this, we got to see an area he doesn’t always get to take people.
Hi Becky, Beautiful review, thank you for taking the time to write it! We also feel that starting your stay in Amsterdam with a 2 hour small more intimate tour including local snacks and drinks is probably the best way to discover our amazing city in a relax way! Hopefully we can welcome you back on board and show you even more of our beloved city
Great boat, Seb was an amazing host as your guide captain and owner ! Good food refreshments and welcoming atmosphere !

Hi jane, Fabulous review and thank you very much for the great recommendation! We can't wait to welcome you back on board for another beautiful tasty informative and relaxed tour of Amsterdam!
I initially booked this particular canal cruise as it was the only one offering Prosecco! I know that is a shallow reason but hey it was my birthday! The Prosecco and our lovely Captain Mare were both bubbly and fun. Mare was a perfect host and a great safe driver too. She gave great information about the city and the Netherlands, culture and people, with fun and enthusiasm. The snacks were great too! There were only 6 of us onboard and the other couples were great fun too. The beautiful old boat was amazing with cover and open space too if you wanted to move around. It was an excellent 2 hours well spent and well worth it.
Hi Anita, So happy we could be part of your birthday and that you fully enjoyed our local snacks and drinks especially our prosecco and cava 🥳 We do hope to welcome you back on board soon for another memorable tasty relax informative beautiful fun smaller and more personal tour of Amsterdam
I initially booked this canal cruise because it was the only one that offered free Prosecco (yes I know I am shallow!). However, it wasn't just the Prosecco that was amazing, Mare our captain was just as bubbly! The cruise exceeded expectations, the boat beautiful and the other guests onboard great company. Mate was very knowledgeable, down to earth and fun, she made us feel welcome and gave us history and fun facts about the Netherlands and it's people. Would highly recommend this canal cruise over others, even if you don't drink Prosecco!
Thank you for taking the time to write this beautiful and extensive review, we love it! Happy to see that besides our wide selection of (local) drinks including prosecco/cava you also fully enjoyed our local knowledgeable captain/guide, our unique boat and of course our amazing city! We do hope to welcome you back on board soon again for another bubbly tour of Amsterdam!
Absolutely excellent tour- wonderful captain and guide (Mare). Excellent snacks and drinks. Wonderful information and a great length. Nice, small group!
Hello Jeanette, Excellent review, thank you very much! We fully agree that a 2 hour smaller more personal tour including local snacks and drinks is the best way to discover Amsterdam from the water! Hope to do it all soon again!
We absolutely loved our canal tour on the Julianna—a small 100 year old wooden boat that has been converted to electric power. Boat has outdoor back deck, comfortable covered but full view main seating area and even a bathroom. The cute, small boat made for a much more intimate experience—we had just seven people on our tour, and they cap it at 10. There were plenty of drinks throughout the cruise, including beer, wine, prosecco, gin and soft drinks, along with a great assortment of hot and cold bites like bitterballen, spring rolls, fried cheese, cheese and cookies. Our captain, Mare, was lovely—knowledgeable, friendly and the perfect host. This was our second canal tour in Amsterdam. Our first was with one of the big companies on one of their long tour boats, and this experience was SO MUCH BETTER. More personal, more relaxed and simply a much nicer way to experience the canals. Size matters—in this case, smaller is better. Highly recommend this tour—and we especially loved being able to support a small, independent business owner.
Oh wow wow wow what an absolutely fantastic and extensive review. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this, we really appreciate it! It seems like all our efforts to provide a smaller more personal tour was fully being appreciated from our unique vessel Giuliana, our local snacks and drinks, our true local captains/guides to of course our amazing city itself! Thank you so much for supporting a real local business and we do hope to welcome you back in the near future!
This was a very enjoyable and informative experience. Mare was a wealth of knowledge and was happy to share a discuss.
Hi Martin, Thank you for the great review! It was also very enjoyable having had you on board and we would love to welcome you back for another informative tasty and beautiful tour of Amsterdam!
