We had Mari Atlanta. She was super informative and had a great personality. It was 2 hours and that was more than enough to explore the open air exhibits.
You need to schedule several hours to really do this place justice. I have heard this described as Norway in a postage stamp and I think that is an accurate description. There are buildings at this park from all over Norge and walking from one building to another is a good way to get an overall impression of life of Norway as it has been over the last 800 years. I am so glad that these wooden buildings with sod roofs have been preserved. The Stave church is outstanding. Built in 1200 it is most likely the oldest building in the park. The reconstructed city or village is interesting. Unfortunately, the rain was coming down hard when we were in this part of the park and didn’t give it the justice it deserved. I would heartily recommend this park. Do yourself a favor and have a coffee and pastry at the café at the end of your visit. Wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking. Recommended
We enjoyed the architectural history and rich culture represented in this amazing park. I advise earlier arrival than late afternoon as we did as the park was empty and we did not have nearly enough time to explore adequately.
Hi abd12342015, Thanks for your kind words. We’re so pleased you appreciated the architectural history and cultural richness of the park. It truly is a unique journey through Norwegian life. You’re absolutely right that an earlier start allows more time to explore the extensive grounds at a comfortable pace, and we appreciate you sharing this helpful tip with future visitors. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you again on another memorable experience soon. Regards, Rosotravel team
This eco-museum gives you a good understanding of the Norwegian way of life. The resettled houses are for some open, it is exciting.

Loved learning about the history of the Vikings. The only negative I would give and this was not the fault of the tour guide but some.buildings were closed which was unfortunate as we would have liked to step into them.
Thank you, Kim! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed learning about the Vikings. We appreciate your understanding regarding the buildings that were closed—sometimes these closures are beyond our control, but we’re glad they didn’t prevent you from having an engaging experience. We hope to welcome you on another Rosotravel tour soon! Kind regards, Rosotravel Team
You will time travel back in history and get to see so many interesting things about Norwegian history and culture. They have a dedicated Sàmi exhibit as well.
Thank you, Logan! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your journey through Norwegian history and culture, and that the Sámi exhibit stood out for you. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you on another Rosotravel tour soon! Kind regards, Rosotravel Team
I’m disappointed. Honestly, I’m speechless — I was at the agreed time and location, and there was no one there! I asked some people working at the venue for information, and they told me they had no idea that Tripadvisor sold this kind of tour, and had no information. So I called the contact number listed on the website. Someone answered but said they also didn’t have any information about the guide and would get back to me with details. I waited, tried calling again, and they simply didn’t answer. In the end, my friend and I bought single tickets and entered to visit without a guide. I’m disappointed — I paid £100 for this and didn’t even receive any support. I recommend buying the Oslo Pass instead — it gives you access to all the museums, buses, and trams for half the price. Or go with a competing platform — at least I’ve never had a problem there.
Dear Guest, We are truly sorry to read about your experience and understand how frustrating this situation must have been. According to our records, your tour was indeed scheduled, and our guide was present at the meeting point at the agreed time. It seems there may have been a misunderstanding or difficulty locating each other on-site. We always provide a direct emergency contact number to assist guests in such cases, and we regret that communication did not go as smoothly as intended. We are currently reviewing this incident with our local partner to ensure that such confusion does not happen again. Please rest assured that if the service was not delivered as booked, you are entitled to a full refund, and we encourage you to contact the platform’s customer service to have this resolved promptly. Thank you for your feedback — it helps us improve our coordination and communication for future guests.
It’s wonderful to be taken around this special place with someone like Lisa who was able to bring everything to life. She also told us some very interesting facts about Norway and its history. Highly recommended! We were also fortunate to have such a beautiful day.
