It was on our “bucket list “ for a long time. So glad we finally got to do it. Our guide “Ash” was amazing. Knows more about the invasion than anyone I have ever met. Also filled us in about local history along the way to the beaches.

Rest easy knowing this tour is perfectly timed to ensure you return to the ship well before departure.
Your tour begins with a prompt pickup in Le Havre, either directly from the cruise port or your hotel. Situated on the Normandy coast, Le Havre played a pivotal role during World War II, serving as a strategic location in the planning and execution of the D-Day landings. As you depart the city, your guide will share powerful stories about the region’s wartime significance and the heroic efforts of the Allied forces. This scenic drive sets the stage for the impactful history awaiting you at the D-Day Landing sites.
At La Cambe German War Cemetery, you'll gain a unique perspective on the events of D-Day. Set in peaceful surroundings, this solemn site honors the sacrifices made by soldiers on both sides of the conflict. The neatly arranged gravestones serve as a poignant reminder of the heavy toll of war, offering a moment of reflection and respect for those who lost their lives.
At Pointe du Hoc, you’ll stand at one of the most significant locations of the D-Day landings. This cliff, situated between Utah and Omaha Beach, was a key German defense position, with artillery and fortifications that posed a serious threat to the Allies. On June 6, 1944, U.S. Army Rangers courageously scaled these steep cliffs under heavy enemy fire to secure the area, an act of bravery crucial to the success of the Normandy invasion. Today, you can witness the remnants of battle, including bomb craters, damaged bunkers, and a memorial dedicated to the Rangers. Walking through this historic site, you’ll feel the gravity of the events that unfolded here.
Omaha Beach, known as "Bloody Omaha," is a key site in World War II history. It was one of the primary landing zones during the D-Day invasion of Normandy, where Allied forces faced fierce opposition in a battle that played a pivotal role in the success of the larger campaign. Today, the beach serves as a solemn reminder of the courage and sacrifice displayed by those who fought here. As you walk along the sands, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on the profound history and pay your respects. During this stop, you'll be provided a packed lunch for you to enjoy as you take in the significance of the site.
At the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, over 9,000 American soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Normandy invasion rest in peace. As you walk among the rows of white crosses and Stars of David, you’ll be moved by the scale of their sacrifice. Inside the Memorial Chapel, take a moment to reflect and honor the bravery that defined this sacred ground.
As your tour comes to an end, you'll head back to Le Havre, relaxing in the comfort of your transport while enjoying the scenic beauty of Normandy. Reflect on the significance of the D-Day Landing sites and the incredible courage of the American forces. You’ll return to port well before your ship’s departure, ensuring peace of mind. Your guide will offer a warm farewell, leaving you with lasting memories of this meaningful journey.

It was on our “bucket list “ for a long time. So glad we finally got to do it. Our guide “Ash” was amazing. Knows more about the invasion than anyone I have ever met. Also filled us in about local history along the way to the beaches.
This tour was truly amazing and deeply moving. From the La Cambe German War Cemetery and Omaha Beach to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial and the German fortifications at Pointe du Hoc, every stop brought the history of D-Day to life. Standing in these places, you could feel the immense valor, sacrifice, and courage of the Allied forces. It was both humbling and unforgettable to witness the sites where so much was given for freedom. This is a tour that will stay with me forever. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience and better understand the history, sacrifice, and significance of Normandy.
It was a long day but worth it. Pick up was conveniently located right at the cruise port. Our guide Thelma was passionate and knowledgeable about DDay history. There were more people on the tour than I had hoped but less than booking directly through the cruise ship. Seeing the actual cliffs, bunkers and beaches adds a perspective you can’t get any other way. The memorial and cemetery were beautiful and respectfully designed.
Our tour guide Burt did an amazing job on this trip. We went to Omaha Beach, German and American cemeteries, and Pointe du Hoc. I would recommend this.
A great tour with a good driver and guide. Bertrand was definitely a Subject Matter Expert and you can tell he really knew the history and many additional stories to add to the experience
Our tour guide was very informative and very passionate about the D-Day tour. My husband and I enjoyed it very much.
Excellent tour. Our guide was informative and passionate about the history of Normandy and D Day. He also had a great sense of timing that seem to get us to sites at the least crowded times. Thoroughly enjoyed this experience!
Our tour guide was amazing! Filled with facts and stories! Would highly recommend!
Bertrand was amazing, patient, informative, enthusiastic. Great tour of Normandy!
We booked this tour because the cruise ship’s excursion had already sold out, and we were also happy to find that this tour was less expensive. We were very pleased with our decision! Our tour guide, Sam, was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable about Normandy and did a wonderful job explaining the events leading up to, during, and following D-Day. His knowledge and storytelling really brought the history to life and made the experience both educational and memorable. The tour was very well organized and ran right on time. As cruise passengers, we especially appreciated that we returned to the ship with plenty of time before departure, which made the day completely stress-free. VEXPERIO also did a great job with communication. They provided clear instructions on where to meet, and they had staff members outside the terminal to guide us to the bus, making the meeting process easy and straightforward. Overall, this was an excellent tour and a great value. We would highly recommend VEXPERIO to anyone visiting Normandy, especially fellow cruise passengers looking for a well-organized and informative Normandy tour.
