Itinerary
After a brief introductory meeting with your local guide, head off to explore Nairobi! Walking through the streets of Nairobi and travelling by public transport provides plenty of opportunity to mingle with the locals as they go about their daily lives, making this a pretty solid local experience in our books. Your Nairobi walking tour will kick off with a stroll through Uhuru Park, right in the heart of the city, before wandering past the parliament buildings and the mausoleum of the first president of Kenya, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
This Nairobi tour continues with a look at the Kenyatta Conference Centre.
August 7th Memorial Park, which was built to commemorate the bombing of the US Embassy. We'll also give you the opportunity to visit the Kenya National Archives and various other sites within the city centre, based on your interests and our route. Another key local experience is food, so it's no surprise that this Nairobi city tour includes the opportunity to sample local cuisine at lunch at a local restaurant. Eat like a local, chat with locals, see Nairobi like a local...soon you'll pretty much BE a local! (well, not quite, but you know what we're getting at...)

We had an incredible time on this tour, and our guide, Michael, was beyond amazing! His energy was contagious from start to finish. He showed us sides of Nairobi we never would have explored on our own, including the vibrant matatu culture and the bustling business district. We also visited the giraffe sanctuary and the bead factory—which turned out to be beyond interesting! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect with the bead factory, but I was so pleasantly surprised by how fascinating the whole process was. Michael is exceptionally knowledgeable and went above and beyond for our group—he helped us find ATMs, reliable FOREX bureaus, and great local souvenir shops with fair prices. Most importantly, he made sure everyone felt completely comfortable and safe the entire time, effortlessly managing crowds and street vendors so we could simply enjoy the sights. Experiencing Nairobi through the eyes of such a skilled local guide made all the difference. Highly recommended!
We had an awesome time and Michael took us out of our comfort zone in order to experience the local culture. The morning included the highlights of the city, followed by a walk through the local streets including visiting the large area of textile workers. Michael ensured we were safe at all times and booked us a bus ride on one of the public ‘entertainment’ buses. The loud music, rocking bus and driving around the roundabout 4 times was an experience we will never forget. The visit to the Giraffe centre, although very crowded with tourists, was informative and enjoyable. A wonderful day out! Thank you Michael
A bit of a miscommunication as to where to be picked up from but that was resolved after a short while. Initially thought it would be a half day tour but very happy to do the full day and the price was acceptable. Michael was very knowledgeable and mixed the events to cover cultural, historical and local. The museum was very interesting and the guide was good too. The local bus was something I’d never have considered but it was very memorable (and LOUD) lol The giraffe sanctuary was quite crowded but so great to be that close to them. All in all a once in a lifetime experience ✅
This tour was a great way to see Nairobi safely with a local. There were only three if us on the tour so Michael was able to tailor some of the tour to our interests. I particularly liked seeing the fabric stalls and tailors, the Maasai market and the busy streets of Nairobi with the noise, the people, the food and the colourful buses. Lunch was included which was great. Michael was an amazing host and made sure everyone got what they wanted out of the tour. I also saw Michael at my hotel where he checked to make sure my airpprt transfers were looked after.
We had a fabulous day with Michael(foundly nicknamed Mick 🤣). He was so informative, positive and showed us everything we wanted to see and more! We booked a 2nd tour with him the next day and; again has a fabulous time. Highly recommend Michael! Thanks so much for your time 🌟🫶🏾🎉
Michael took exceptional care of our group of 16 travelers! We got an amazing and detailed overview of Nairobi, visited multiple sights and museums - we did way more in a half day than we would have accomplished in a full day on our own. Michael is incredibly passionate and caring, the best guide you could have!
The tour was about five hours, yet well-paced and balanced i.e. we covered a lot, but it didn't feeled rushed or tiring. Michael is super street smart, so I felt free to enjoy the vibe. He also has a lot of stories about everyday life in Kenya, which set me up well for the rest of my trip :)
Amazing walking tour with Michael. Would highly recommend
Michael gave us a great day out in Nairobi. Told him what we were interested in and what to leave out. He is very charismatic and we had great craic engaging with the locals we met along the way. We felt totally safe and he was very attentive to our needs. You are in good hands with Michael.
Michael was a great guide his passion and knowledge of the city shined through He was attentive and continually watched over us through the diversity and chaos of this vibrant city. He tailored the stops to fit the groups wishes and took us to an amazing Somali restaurant for lunch - included. I would strongly recommend this tour to any one travelling alone and wanting a safe way to experience the real Nairobi. Thanks Michael for a great day 😊
