A fun drive with lots of history
My wife and i decided to take this tour on our last day of being in Fiji and we certainly made the right choice. Sadam and Moses couldnt have been better tour guides, they have a beautiful nature and stop regularly to take in the views, share love with the locals and share so much knowledge about the lands and the history of fiji. I would 100% recommend joining this tour group and will back again.
Operator response
Bula Allan,
What a wonderful way to spend your final day in Fiji, and we're delighted the Off Road Cave Safari proved to be the right choice!
Sadam and Moses will be thrilled to read your comments. Both have a genuine connection to the Sigatoka Valley, and what they share goes well beyond the history of Naihehe Cave. The stops along the journey, spectacular views, interactions with villagers and stories about the land and its people are all part of experiencing this beautiful region through the eyes of locals.
We particularly loved your comment about them stopping to “share love with the locals.” That's a lovely description because the people you see along the way aren't simply part of the scenery—they're friends, families and communities our guides know personally. Those spontaneous interactions are part of what makes every Off Road Cave Safari a little different.
Thank you for your 100% recommendation, Allan. Even better is hearing that you plan to come back! We'll make sure Sadam and Moses know they may have some returning guests to look after.
Until then, sota tale!

Fantastic cave tour
Fantastic day with Moses and Una our wonderful guides. We had a small group tour which was so nice to meet everyone and travel together. Pick up transfer was great with a stop at Sigatoka for a brief shop, then on to the safari tour site. Visit to the village with lots of Bula waves to the kids and then onto the cave. Tons of history and information inside the cave and exciting walking through the shallow water to access. Overall great tour. Highly recommended.
Operator response
Bula Nicky,
It sounds like you had a fantastic day exploring the Sigatoka Valley with Moses and Una, and we'll certainly make sure they both hear your lovely feedback.
One of the things we really enjoy about the Off Road Cave Safari is the smaller-group atmosphere. By the end of the day, guests often feel like they've been exploring the valley with a group of new friends rather than simply joining a tour.
The journey through the villages—with plenty of enthusiastic “Bula!” waves from the children—is all part of experiencing this special part of Fiji beyond the resorts. Then, of course, comes Naihehe Cave. Walking through the shallow water and entering the cave adds to the adventure, but it's the extraordinary history and stories connected to this special place that really bring it to life.
We're delighted Moses and Una were able to share that history with you and make your visit so memorable.
Thank you for the recommendation, Nicky, and for spending part of your Fiji holiday exploring our beautiful valley with us.

Memorable Fijian immersion
If you are visiting Fiji, the Off-Road Cave Safari is an absolute must-do for families.
Our family of four—two adults and two kids—had a completely seamless experience from our seamless hotel pickup right through to our transfers. The off-road drive was ridiculously cool as we splashed through the terrain, though since it was raining during our trip, it got quite chilly, so definitely pack plenty of towels! Driving through the local villages was a core memory in itself; every person we passed cheerfully called out "Bula!", and trading warm greetings back and forth set such a fun, welcoming tone for the day.
Once we reached the cave, the atmosphere turned delightfully eerie, but our guide, Saddam, kept everyone laughing with his hilarious commentary. Our Monday driver, Moses, was fantastic as well, making the whole journey feel smooth and effortless. Afterwards, we gathered for a delicious lunch and a traditional kava ceremony to round out the cultural experience.
Just one word of caution for parents: keep the kava strictly to the adults, as my son took a tiny sip and ended up with an upset tummy later on! I won’t spoil any more of the surprises—just book it when you're in Fiji and experience the magic for yourself.
Operator response
Bula Monica,
What a fantastic description of your family's Off Road Cave Safari—from splashing through the Sigatoka Valley in the rain to the chorus of "Bula!" greetings as you travelled through the villages.
We're delighted that the entire experience was seamless for your family and that the journey through the valley became a memory in itself. Those greetings from villagers along the way are completely spontaneous and genuine, and they provide a wonderful introduction to the warmth and friendliness of rural Fiji.
A huge vinaka to Saddam and Moses. Saddam certainly has a talent for mixing the fascinating—and sometimes rather eerie—history of Naihehe Cave with plenty of Fijian humour, while Moses' skill behind the wheel makes navigating those off-road tracks and river crossings look much easier than it actually is!
We're also pleased you enjoyed the lunch and traditional kava ceremony. One important clarification for families reading your review: Kava participation is completely optional for adults, and children are always welcome to observe the tradition without drinking, we use bottled water and advise that kava is a plant from the same family as the pepper plant.
Your advice about towels is a good one too! On a wet day, the open-air journey through the valley can certainly be a little cooler—although splashing through those tracks in the rain can also add another level of adventure.
Most importantly, we're thrilled that your family came away with such wonderful memories of the people, culture and landscape of the Sigatoka Valley.
Thank you for calling the Off Road Cave Safari an "absolute must-do for families". We couldn't ask for a better recommendation.

Absolutely great!
Sadam, The Good One and Knox shared their personal history of Fiji. The Sigatoga Valley was beautiful and the Naihehe Cave was a great experience. This was probably the best excursion we had in Fiji.
It is worth the long trek from Denarau Island.
We highly recommend!
Operator response
Bula Kelly,
To hear that the Off Road Cave Safari was probably the "best excursion of your Fiji holiday" is a fantastic compliment to our entire team.
We're delighted you enjoyed travelling through the beautiful Sigatoka Valley and exploring the remarkable Naihehe Cave. But what makes the experience particularly special is having local guides who aren't simply reciting a script—they're sharing the history of their home, their families and their own connection to this part of Fiji.
A huge vinaka to Sadam, "The Good One," and Knox for making your day so memorable. We'll make sure your comments are passed on to them.
We also appreciate you mentioning the journey from Denarau. It is a little further to travel, but once you leave the resorts behind and venture into the interior of the Sigatoka Valley, you get to experience an entirely different side of Fiji—one that we're incredibly proud to share.
Thank you for making the journey and for recommending the Off Road Cave Safari so highly. We hope the stories, scenery and people you encountered stay with you long after your Fiji holiday.

Well worth doing. Friendly a tentative staff for guided tour. The owners of the land I.e chief was very friendly and welcoming to us all and answered all questions about their land and farming practices. Great food for lunch. Cave visit brilliant.

Bula Vinaka,
We're so pleased that the Off Road Cave Safari gave you a genuine insight into life in the Sigatoka Valley and the opportunity to experience a side of Fiji that many visitors never get to see.
One of the special parts of this adventure is meeting the traditional landowners and learning firsthand about the land, farming practices and everyday village life. These conversations provide a much deeper understanding of the connection Fijian communities have with their land and the importance of agriculture to families throughout the valley.
We're delighted you enjoyed the hospitality, the fantastic lunch and, of course, exploring Naihehe Cave. The cave has an extraordinary history, and hearing its stories while actually standing inside it certainly brings Fiji's past to life.
Thank you for describing the Off Road Cave Safari as a "must do." We're proud to be able to share the history, culture and people of this beautiful part of Fiji with our guests.
We hope to welcome you back to the Sigatoka Valley again one day.

Brilliant
We went with Tia Maria and Zac, a wonderful experience full of culture and knowledge. Sudan was a great guide in the caves and tia gave us a lot of insight on the villages and their way of life. We were lucky enough to have Zac drive us all the way back to Denarau, Zac was great, taking all this time to explain the Fiji way of life and how they live each and everyday. Very memorable and something not to miss

Cave Safari with Una and Inia.
We had Una as a guide, that woman knows her history and has a great sense of humour. We would not have gotten anywhere without the skillful driving of our driver Inia (aka SpongeBob). Both made it a great start to our day.
Operator response
Bula Vinaka,
Vinaka vakalevu for your kind words and recommendation.
We're delighted to hear Una and Inia helped make your Off Road Cave Safari such an enjoyable experience. Una is incredibly passionate about sharing the history of the Sigatoka Valley and Off Road Cave Safari, and her sense of humour certainly keeps everyone entertained along the way!
A special vinaka also to Inia—better known around here as "SpongeBob!" Navigating the valley tracks takes plenty of skill, and he'll be thrilled to know his driving helped make your adventure both safe and enjoyable.
We'll be sure to pass your lovely comments on to both of them. Thank you again for choosing the Off Road Cave Safari, and we hope to welcome you back to the Heart & Soul of Fiji for another memorable adventure.
