Known for its long history of glassmaking, Murano Island attracts visitors arriving by ferry to see the Museo del Vetro, which details the evolution of glass across centuries, and to buy unique local crafts. The Romanesque Church of Santa Maria and San Donato features a vibrant mosaic floor and is believed to contain the bones of a vanquished dragon.
Positioned in the Venetian Lagoon, Burano, much like its neighbor Venice which is seven kilometers to the south, comprises several small islands linked by bridges. Located near Torcello at the northern edge of the lagoon, Burano is celebrated for its intricate glass and lace-making.
Torcello is a hidden gem in the Venetian Lagoon, perfect for those seeking history, tranquility, and authentic beauty. Therefore, when booking you are aware of this possible change, subsequent refund requests will not be accepted. Example: If you choose the 9:30 am time slot and the ticket office closes at that time, you will be transferred to the first available time slot, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 14pm or 14:30pm.
- Importantly, we ask you to arrive 20 minutes before the departure of the tour, because you have to show your voucher at the ticket office and receive the tickets, if you do not arrive on time or miss the meeting point, you will miss the tour. If you miss the tour, you will not receive a refund.

This experience was not tailored with a personal guide nor with the language chosen. We had to sit through explanations in 3 languages on ferry and in glass factory. Everything was very rushed not allowing any time in each place especially with a 20 minute walk from feeey and back so actually only 30 minutes at each location. No time to eat either.

Really great tour of interesting islands. Burano was our favourite. Timing was punctual and staff friendly. Small amount of difficulty in finding the meeting point. Good value for money and well suited to teenage grandchildren. We had visited Venice previously as a couple so wanted outdoor experience and were not disappointed.

The islands themselves are well worth a visit if you are in Venice. However, the Tripadvisor description is somewhat misleading. There is no one to meet you at the ferry, which luckily I worked out and gave the ticket office my booking form to be issued my tickets at face value of 25 euros each! The tour guide only gives commentary whilst on the boat, which unfortunately was impossible to understand as her English skills combined with a terrible PA system made it unintelligible. In short I’m not sure what the premium you pay through trip advisor v the ticket price at the box office is actually for. Would recommend you go to the islands but try a different supplier than Trip advisor
