Mountain Pine Ridge Tour from San Ignacio

Description
Is one of the oldest areas of Central America; after the plate tectonic moved pushing up the magma, metamorphic change to granite rising from the sea. The mountain was exposed to weather creating a series of waterfalls, streams, and rivers. Researchers have found rocks that date 340 million old, the oldest rock of Central America with one of the tallest waterfalls over a 1000 ft high. Mountain Pine Ridge was Rio-Firo-Cave one of the first mountains to emerge from the sea several waterfalls, creeks, and rivers were formed to create Belize's two biggest watersheds, The Sibun River and the Macal and Belize River. My private tour guide, Louis, is knowledgeable, kind, patient, and great company. He is also very popular with the locals which made me feel safe and secure! I enjoyed the refreshing and calming waters of Rio on Pools. The Big Rock trail to the waterfall was well maintained and worth the trek. It's a short trek of stairs to a sparkling sight of beauty! The Rio Frio Nature Trail and Cave is full of nature's herbs, spices, and fuel. The hike is accessible trail, all flat, for those of all walks and ages. You will enjoy the treat of the cave's waterfall and the history of the Mayans.
Miguel did a fantastic job giving us history & context around the Mayan Temple, followed by fun kayak ride on the river with Luis and a wonderful Belize lunch.
Our guide Louise was not friendly and not helpful. There was not any private area for us to change our cloth after the kayaking. Also he offer us the lunch in bad area with a lot of animal poops and bad smell which we declined .. it was really bad experience . I will not advice going with this company .

We were very fortunate to have Eddie as our guide. It was just my husband, myself and Eddie on this tour. The ruins are compact and close to San Ignacio. Eddie was very informed about the ruins and equally versed in kayaking down the white rapids. The Mopan River can be very tough. My husband fell out of his kayak several times and Eddie was there for the rescue. Take this trip only if you are willing to fall off your kayak and get wet, Take this river seriously and have a great time. The scenery is beautiful.

We had an amazing time. Luis and Jose were perfect partners during the day and ran everything smoothly. They made the day feel extra special. They gave us the best time and a lifetime of memories. We are so happy we found this tour and still smiling from the experience!
