Mount Olympus Beyond the Postcards: Myths, Nature & Hidden Paths

This excursion was our first cruise port in Greece and Michael provided us with detailed information that applied to all the other Greek ports. His knowledge of the Greek gods was amazing, but he also shared what life in Greece is like today, including a snack stop to have a native experience. He took us to many beautifully scenic, quiet and remote places which allowed us to experience them without crowds or being rushed. We had a wonderful tour with a very friendly and personable tour guide.

This was the most amazing tour we have ever had! Michael brought the Greek history and Greek mythology that our family loves to life with his wonderful stories and the beautiful and precious places he shared with us! Our children, 13 and 10, who love learning about the Greek myths through “Percy Jackson” and all they have learned in school, were so interested in the stories that Michael shared! He made us all feel like part of his family! His warmth and kindness along with his remarkable knowledge and enthusiasm about the myths and the sacred places made our tour with him an experience we will cherish forever!

We liked this excursion a lot and would recommend it. Michael, our guide, met us a short walk from the cruise port. Our family of 3 joined a couple for this excursion. Our day included a delicious spanakopita snack (yummy!), some short hikes (including a waterfall), visits to a few chapels (beautiful), and excellent storytelling. We really enjoyed learning about the Greeks Gods and Greek culture. Michael was friendly and informative and kept us entertained with his amazing stories.

Michael was the most amazing tour guide. We had so much fun and he was well organized, kind, and hilarious!!! Highly recommend!

This was a one of a kind experience getting to see Mount Olympus and hearing all the stories of the 12 Greek gods. Tour guides were both amazing and went out of their way to make this a unique and memorable experience!

Pros… Michael was an amazing guide. He is a wealth of information, walking encyclopedia, knows everything about Greek history and Greek mythology. It was a perfect day for our hike. Beautiful scenery. We went off the beaten path of tourists. Wonderful little café we stopped for coffee. And ended the tour with some time on the beach. Now for the cons…. If you are used to hiking stairs, this would be fine. I would highly stay away from this tour if you have mobility issues. There’s a lot of rough terrain to walk through and stairs. If you’re afraid of heights, definitely not to tour for you. I would be cautious with young children , trying to maneuver some of the areas. Now with that being said, you can probably sit in the car and wait. But then you miss all the beautiful scenery.

A great day out with our guide, Michael. Nothing was too much trouble. He is really knowledgeable about Greek mythology and history and we learnt loads. He is a very entertaining host who loves to share his culture and history with you. Took us to lots of places the tour buses couldn’t go.
