From the moment we started hiking in complete darkness at 3:30 AM, Dul made us feel completely comfortable and safe. He gave us lights, guided us carefully through the volcanic terrain and ash, and somehow knew exactly when to let us keep going and when we needed a little break. There was absolutely no pressure to move faster. He was patient, encouraging, and happy to let us experience the mountain entirely at our own pace. Reaching the summit before sunrise was already surreal, but Dul made it even more special. He prepared breakfast and coffee for us while we watched the sky change over Bali, and then gave us all the time in the world to just enjoy it. We flew our drone, used our GoPro, took what felt like a million photos and videos, and never once felt rushed. But what I’ll remember most isn’t just the sunrise or the incredible views — it’s how genuinely kind Dul was. He is such a sweet, warm person and you can tell that he truly cares about the people he guides. He wasn’t simply taking us up and down a mountain; he was helping us have an experience we would remember forever. And we absolutely will. I booked a solo hike, and even though i was a bit late on my booking Bali Bagus made it happen. I was picked up at 2:30 by my driver Paymo, who was a great guy even though his English was very limited. Every Thing was on time and very well arranged. After I arrived at the meeting point I was introducer to my hiking guide Ragia, who also made it a great experienced for me. Although we also had a slight language barrier, as with my driver, Ragia and I had a great morning together were we chatted and learned about each other. Ragia was very aware of my wellbeing and made sure to check if I needed water of wanted to slow down. We had a magnificent sunrise, with clear skies and fog in the valley and we were able to speed down the mountain much faster than all the lager groups. I got a little scratch/bruise on my knee on the way down, but Ragia insisted on cleaning it and applying a little iodine before going to the bottom. Overall a great experienced and I would certainly recommend it. As a solo tour you can do it at your own pace. This was my first hike ever, and I will say that even though it isn't a challenging hike as such, it isn't for young children, elderly or people with substantiel weight issues - both because of the physical condition requires to do the climb, but also in regards to balance etc. On the quite steep cliffs at the top.

We had the best time with our guide Dul. It was such a great experience. He showed us everything we wanted to see and what we needed to know. A very fun and nice man, he shared many interesting stories, cooked us the best Indonesian noodles, and was always available to serve whenever we needed a break or weren't feeling well. He also helped take the best pictures and videos. Would really recommend him for anyone who’s gonna book a hike to Mount Batur. He knows the route very well and did a very good job overall. Such a good experience. We booked the combo tour where you take the jeep up the first part and only hike te last stretch to the summit. And honestly, best choice ever. You still get the rewarding feeling of hiking up for the sunrise without completely wrecking your legs in the pitch dark. We watched a breathtaking sunrise above the clouds, it was unreal. Afterwards, touring through the rugged black lava fields in the jeep was an absolute blast; the volcanic landscape is truly otherworldly. A huge thank you to our guide, Mangku! He took wonderful care of us from beginning to end. He paced the hike comfortably, made sure we were always safe, and knew all the best spots to take incredible photos/videos. His friendly, positive energy made the entire morning so relaxed and fun. Everything was well-organized, punctual, and smooth. If you're heading to Mount Batur, we highly recommend this tour setup and definitely ask for Mangku!

We had an absolutely incredible experience hiking Mount Batur with Bagas Bali Sunrise Trek. Our private guide, **Dul, was fantastic from start to finish — this guy deserves a raise!** Our driver picked us up from our hotel in Ubud at 2:30 AM for the roughly one-hour drive to Mount Batur. He actually arrived around 2:05 AM and simply waited for us rather than rushing us, which we really appreciated. We arrived and began our hike promptly at 3:30 AM in complete darkness. Dul provided us with lights and guided us through the volcanic ash and terrain for the nearly 9 km round-trip hike. He was incredibly hospitable, patient, and always made sure we felt safe. He let us hike completely at our own pace and was happy to stop whenever we needed a break, both on the way up and coming back down. There were rest stops along the route, and we especially appreciated that there was never any pressure or solicitation to purchase anything. Once we reached the summit, the experience got even better. Dul prepared breakfast and coffee for us while we watched the sunrise over Bali. The scenery was absolutely spectacular and we had plenty of time to take everything in, fly our drone, use our GoPro, and take photos and videos on our phones without ever feeling rushed. What really made the experience special was Dul himself. He was kind, sweet, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely seemed to care that we had a great experience. Having him privately guide us up Mount Batur made an already beautiful hike that much more memorable. *If you’re considering the Mount Batur sunrise trek, absolutely do it with Bagas Bali Sunrise Trek — and ask for Dul if you can. Great experience for us!!! 🤍 Mas Gede sama Mas Yode good guide for jeep drive to Mount Batur & Black Lava ✨ in Mount Batur, we also get breakfast sandwich with hot drinks (coffee,tea, chocolate)!!! Also Mas driver that pickup & transfer to hotel also very friendly and helpful! YOU GUYS SHOULD EXPERIENCE THIS TOO!!!!

We did the private sunset tour because we did not fancy waking up that early and were okay taking the chance it could be cloudy, we chose a clear forecasted day and it was well worth it. One benefit of the sunset over the sunrise is that it is incredibly quiet up there, maybe 3 other groups, so we had the whole peak to ourselves to take pictures, have them taken of us and explore the steam, enjoy some tea. Our pickup was arranged and well on time, we booked on the website and the driver and operator contacted us to confirm a day before, and to double check the location. Upon arrival to the start of the hike we met Dul, we were 45 minutes early and the start of the hike, but he rushed over and met us 45 minutes earlier too so we could start the hike. He was sure to adjust his pace so we could comfortably walk up, as we had plenty of time too before the sunset. He took care and gave us some rest, tea and food & he protected us from the monkeys when needed. Whilst walking down in the dark he made sure we were safe and had good lights. They provided us with water too. The driver was waiting for us again down the trail as we arrived to drive us back to the villa. I would recommend this service, their prices when booking directly via the operator are very competitive, especially when cutting out the third parties. The mount batur hike is very managable and you can adjust the tempo to your level of fitness, it took us a little inder an hour to walk up.

Waking up at 2 am to climb a mountain is pain in the ass, but it's well worth it for those who know something about something) notwithstanding the fact that it was a bit rainy and very cloudy, we still managed to meet a beautiful sunrise. The guide was very supportive, responsive and helpful. There were no problems with pick up and driving. Everyone received their tips. I strongly recommend to visit the coffee plantation afterwards - just don't buy their chocolate (honestly :)
