Lovely chill morning sail and snorkel!

We had a great private charter with Mat and Kat! Perfect amount of relaxing, sailing and snorkeling. There’s no set agenda, they adapt the time to what the group is interested in, and the weather conditions, which was exactly what we were looking for. We saw red snapper, leatherjackets, stingrays, shoals of Blue Mao Mao, many more I can’t name! If you get cold easily in the water, recommend renting wetsuits ahead of time from the dive shop in Hahei. Super friendly crew and all in all a lovely morning at an amazing location!

Chilled sail in great surroundings

Great 31/2 hour sail around the waters on the Coromandel, some time for a quick dip at Cathedral Cove. I came from Whitianga by ferry. Be aware that it’s about a mile to walk to the boat pick-up point; it's not a challenging walk, but leave yourself time. One couple on our trip didn't show, so we were a little late leaving if you aren’t going to show up have the decency to cancel so you don't delay everyone!

Excellent fun

Fantastic way to experience this beautiful area. Not just Cathedral Cove but many other lovely little beaches including Lonely Bay which we made a point of visiting by foot later (fantastic secluded beach much less crowded than Cathedral Cove). Crew was lovely.

Nine of us for a Day of Sailing

Matt and Bridgette proved to be very great hosts for this day trip off of Cook’s Beach. We thoroughly enjoyed our sail to the outer islands, in spite of the threatening weather. We stopped at one of the outer islands to do some snorkelling, and the crew provided us with some very healthy dining options included within their very diverse and tasty home-made grazing platters. A very nice day for our family.

An experience worth trying!

Hamish and Bridgette were on time, even early. They were also very friendly and more importantly, very knowledgeable with what they were doing. The chill vibe allowed us to get to know each other. They were also easy to talk to and gave clear instructions. They stopped/took time if there were beautiful sceneries (Cathedral Cove). Coffee, tea, juice, and cookies were available on board. Definitely an experience worth treasuring. Thank you!

Fabulous experience...do it!!

Don't let age or inexperience stop you from booking this trip. From the moment you are picked up in Flaxmill Bay you are looked after. I am in my early 60s. Had never been sailing before. No issues getting on and off board. A wonderful hot proper coffee, chances to take the helm, beautiful scenery to see, historical info was shared and we were offered a chance to swim at Cathedral Cove. Safety procedures were top notch. A very relaxing experience on super comfy bean bags...there's even a toilet on board. I would recommend to everyone. Thankyou Mat and Rebecca for an awesome morning.

Operator response

This is a cool review and covers lots of the small things that make our sailing trips special. A large percentage of our customers have never been sailing before and it’s really cool to see people enjoy something completely new. We have adapted things over the years to make boarding the boat really easy for anyone young or old and are pretty serious about our coffee as sailing along with a good brew is a good start to a day. Safety and comfort are two top priorities and both our boats are equipped with excellent onboard toilet and changing facilities. Great to have you out!
