We were staying locally so it was a 10 minute walk to the port. Easy to give name to check in on board. There is a look, air conditioning, and a complimentary soft drink on board. The submarine part of the the boat below deck was like a moving aquarium. We were expecting lots of different fish but I think we had gotten over excited. There were little fish schools and some bigger fish when it was 'feeding' time, but not as expansive as we'd assumed. The kids of other families seemed excited though. It was nice to have a couple of swim stops. They offer free snorkeling equipment if you dont have your own and you can see a few more fish around the rocks at both stops. We thought there would be some tour guide type information given as we went but there was only music playing on the speakers. The crew were knowledgeable if you asked them anything though, but sad you weren't offered the info freely. Overall was a good experience and glad we did it, but dont need to do it again.

Your journey begins at Saint Paul’s Bay dock, home to one of the island’s most iconic churches and a popular wedding venue. Boarding starts in the morning, with departure at 9:30 AM. As we leave the calm waters of the bay behind, get ready to discover the fascinating underwater world without getting wet! Simply head down to our unique underwater viewing deck, located approximately five feet below the surface. Relax in our air-conditioned underwater cabin, enjoy music, connect to our free Wi-Fi, and admire the marine life through the submarine’s large panoramic windows. Don’t forget your camera—there will be plenty of opportunities for memorable family photos!
Heading for the second stop; the Tomb of Kleovoulos, we will tell you all about a significant ancient Greek Philosopher who preached that “Keeping a balance is the key to happiness in life”.

Swimming stop ( 45 minutes) After the fish-feeding experience, we will anchor in the crystal-clear waters of Navarone Bay for a refreshing swim stop. Jump into the turquoise sea, enjoy some family fun in the water, or simply relax and take in the beautiful scenery

Nice tourist attraction
Nice trip for children. They can feed fish and swim with snorkels. Very nice rocks and cliffs on the way. The ship goes in a very narrow path between the cliffs, almost like going in a fjord, but in Greece. We had a good time.

Great way to see the bay and not be out all day!
Loved this! It was perfect for us. It was our last day on the island and we wanted something that didn’t take a whole day. TUI coach dropped us off at the top directly on the path. Yes it is steep! But it’s not as long as I was expecting. My 76 mother-in-law was nervous but she made it with help and wasn’t that slow. To get on the bridge isn’t the widest but the crew hold your hand (if you want!) and it didn’t feel that difficult. We sat along the outside edge, were given a briefing and then on our way. You can move downstairs when you want and it feels stable enough to move around. It’s nicely air conditioned downstairs. Not loads of fish to see initially but that was ok, we were just enjoying the experience. First swim stop is quite early on, looked lovely but as a non-swimmer I was nervous, so didn’t fancy this first stop. But seeing how lovely it was I decided to try on the 2nd one. 7 & 10 yr old super brave and got in! Crew are great and can give you life jackets, noodles and goggles, snorkels etc. I personally thought swim stops were a great length. The 2nd swim stop felt shallower so decided to get - was given a life jacket and a noodle and given some advice and I don’t regret it. It was lovely. There’s a ladder for adults and a smaller one for children at the front. Or you can jump in! Bar is great - selection or soft drinks and some beers. Pringles and some small snacks available. Merchandise as well. Toilet is small but clean and great for kid emergencies!! Thank you for an enjoyable trip!

Fantastic morning trip
Our trip on the Hippo Submarine was fantastic from start to finish. The crew were brilliant, friendly, and made the whole experience enjoyable. The views were absolutely amazing, and we loved seeing the fish from below deck. It was also incredible to be able to take videos and photos of our family swimming in the sea from the underwater viewing area. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Rhodes and would definitely do it again if we come back!

Great trip
We all really enjoyed this trip which was well organised. Plenty of swimming time in two locations along the coast. Would definitely do this again if we came back to Rhodes

Great way to spend a morning
Nice experience, a wonderful way to see the island from a different perspective and see the fish very close. Nice welcoming staff who created a good atmosphere, there were also snorkels for free use during swimming stops!

Superb morning, departure at 9:30 AM Return at 12:30 PM Very good with young children. Two swimming stops, and a nice glass-bottom boat!! We even got to see a turtle in the bay. A drink included during the excursion.
