For about 2 hours you will leisurely explore the archaeological zone seeing the impressive Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, walking down the famous Avenue of the Dead, and visiting the beautiful Temple of Quetzalpapalotl, and other sights of this ancient city. After the tour, return to our vehicle and relax on the way back to Mexico City.

Tula was the Toltec state capital, it was one of the major urban centers of the Central Highlands of Mesoamerica around 1000 AD along with Tenochtitlan and Teotihuacan, and was probably the largest city in this region. The major civic center consists of a large plaza bordered on one side by a five-stepped temple pyramid, which was probably dedicated to the god Quetzalcóatl. Other structures include a palace complex, two other temple-pyramids, and two ball courts.

Admission included120 min

The National Museum of Anthropology contains the world's largest collection of ancient Mexican art and also has ethnographic exhibits about Mexico's present-day indigenous groups. Exhibited on two large floors, these displays show ancient human remains and art objects. Among its outstanding exhibits are the “Group of Figures” from the Olmec culture and the 22-ton Aztec “Sun Stone,” representing the history of the world.

Awesome guide, some aspects of promised tour not delivered

5 stars for our guide Sal but overall 4 stars because you simply can’t do all three things in a day given local traffic. We did Teotihuacan first, then Tula and by the time we got to the anthropology museum it was one hour until it closed so we have to go back again tomorrow. Your best bet is to find a tour that cuts out Tula and just does Teotihucan and the Museum. Tula has cool warrior statues but not much else you won’t see at Teotihuacan so it’s not worth the extra hour’s drive there and then two hours back to the museum. Also, there seems to be some disconnect between what the tour promises and what it delivers. When we booked our confirmation it said they’d pick up at our hotel but the day before we were told we had to walk to a central meeting point. Not far for us but the bait and switch could have been really inconvenient in other circumstances. Also the tour we signed up for promised complimentary snacks and non alcoholic beverages so I didn’t pack any but none were offered. Also because we were running late to the museum we only had time to stop and buy snacks, no lunch. Try to pack less into the day and you’ll be completely satisfied with Sal as your awesome guide.

Super guide on a very interesting trip !

Great trip ! We had a very good guide ! Teotichuacan is amazing. Tula also and the museum is a must when in CDMX. The guide knew a lot of the history and this his very best to give us a great day. There was a traffic jam returning from Tula so we did not have a lot of time to visit the museum but he took us to the best points of interest. Thank you again for the lovely day !

Operator response

Dear Vicky, Thank you for choosing Vibe Adventures. We are glad you enjoyed your tour. The traffic here can get really obtrusive We do our best to avoid places with heavy traffic during our tours, but unfortunately, external factors such as car accidents and roadworks sometimes impede our efforts. We hope to see you again soon. Take care! gratefully, Vibe Adventures’ team

Deep and unique experience of Mexico’s history

Ari was an amazing guide! She and the driver picked me up early in the morning and we spent the day fully immersed in conversations about the anthropology and archeological history of Mexico. Although I had read a lot, I walked away with a completely new perspective that was fuller and richer. This is a very deep experience for anyone who has a real curiosity about Mexico’s indigenous cultures and anthropology. I could easily have spent many more hours if the day had more hours! A truly once in a lifetime experience. Ari even offered tips for restaurants and street food. I highly recommend this tour and especially, Ari!
