Wow! Wow! Wow! I can't put into words what an incredible experience we've had and implore everyone to book. Our guide, Komang, was outstanding. He communicated via what's app and was so accommodating when we asked to change dates due to the weather. On arrival, he met us with a beaming, welcoming smile and made us feel at ease immediately. His English was impeccable and his knowledge was outstanding - without him, our experience would not have been the same. We arrived early (around 8.30 am), which seemed the best thing to do, to beat the crowds. Once inside, Komang explained the history of the temple, the belief around the temple and guided us expertly through the process. He was able to take the most breathtaking photos for us (for a small fee), which we will treasure forever. I consider myself spiritual, but my partner is not in the least. However, we both came away feeling a sense of contentment, hope and fulfillment that was unexpected. I would highly, highly recommend this as a trip of a lifetime in Bali. Go with an open mind, an open heart and the respect that this sacred site deserves. 🙏🏼

My melukat ceremony at Tirta Empul Temple was truly unforgettable, and a big part of that was because of my guide, Rangga, who explained every step with calm patience and deep respect for the tradition while making sure I understood the meaning behind each offering, prayer, and movement. Rangga has a beautiful soul that you can feel in the way he speaks to both the water and the people, and his steady, reassuring voice guided me through the purification prayers with genuine presence throughout the whole process. When I felt nervous about the fish in the spring water, he encouraged me gently and shared the philosophy behind surrendering, making each stage feel meaningful by connecting it to daily life and personal reflection. I left feeling lighter, clearer, and genuinely grateful because it wasn’t just a tourist activity but a real spiritual reset. Rangga’s respectful and focused tone. Even with other visitors around, the space still felt personal and contemplative, and the crowd size was moderate during my weekday morning visit with enough space that it never felt crowded. Rangga timed our entry well so we could have quiet moments in the water without interruptions, and if you want it quieter, I’d recommend coming early with a guide like him who knows the flow.

The guide Dewa has given us very thorough introduction of the temple history and the stories of each God. Dewa has taken good photos and videos for us as well. The place has sacred and solemn vibe, we got touched and definitely felt the holy water's blessing and cleansing power with tears of compassion. Thanks Dewa's heartful care with his calling from the Divine. In spite of brought us to pray by guiding us step-by-step on the essential rituals, Dewa also shared with us some messages he got from the divine which is so true to us! I accidentally twisted my ankle when I crossed the step, Dewa helped me to massage and the pain was gone! It amazed me so much on the spiritual side of the Balinese and the sacred energy of the temple! Tirta Empul Temple is not only a tourist attraction, but also a place of spiritual medicine!

You absolutely must do this. The entire experience is just amazing. The guide that we were given (Santika) was so knowledgeable, and never stopped smiling. He explained the entire process from start to finish, informed us of exactly why we were doing things not just what we were doing. He also gave us the history of the temple and surrounding areas. Everything was perfectly organised, and it left us feeling like we had truly been a part of the Balinese culture. Our suggestion is to make sure you do the early morning session (7:30am) as it can get quite busy. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful experience at the temple with my guide, Fendi. He explained the history and the meaning behind the purification ritual so clearly, which made the whole experience much more meaningful. He also helped me take many beautiful photos and videos, which I really appreciate. The water was quite cold, but after the ritual I felt so light and refreshed, both physically and mentally. Just like Fendi said, intention is everything, and trusting the energy of the holy water makes a difference. I arrived at 8am and it was almost empty, so I highly recommend going early for a more peaceful and comfortable experience.
