Medellín: Paragliding in the Colombian Andes

It was a cloudy foggy morning so we waited for about an hour for the weather to clear up. Claris our contact on site was very organized. The pilot I flew tandem with was not the best in my opinion. We kept spinning in circles to “gain hight” unsuccessfully and at some point we flew through the fog which was a big concern for me as there were many parachutes in the air and I was terrified we might not see others in the fog/clouds and get tangled with others. The pilot was dismissive about my concerns (valid or not). Note you have to hold the rented GoPro for a bit then the pilot takes over. My pics are so messy. Only a couple of views/background in comparison to my friend who flew with another pilot and got wonderful shots. Again, I’ve done skydiving before and I’m not scared of hights but it was extremely uncomfortable and the flying time was certainly was more than what I signed up for which was 15 min. At the end the pilot took instruction to land in lower area and not return to the platform due to cloud cover around the platform. Note my friend enjoyed every second with another pilot. It could have been me or my pilot why I didn’t enjoy.

A good experience and a great view. However, we had no guide with who could English. It was just lucky that we had one in the group who could Spanish and guide the rest of the group. There has been promised an instructional video before departure with paragliding, this was not observed there, which could have been nice when you were nervous.

Such an amazing and thrilling experience but I still felt completely safe and secure with my pilot. He was professional and good at what he does.

Definitely worth the money. Friendly staff and very nice driver. Would do it again when I come back!

Such an incredible experience! Once we got up to the place, it was great, but just to move, the instructions were a little unclear and the driver (while so lovely!) didn’t speak English and we didn’t know which specific paragliding place we had to go to (there were a few). Also wasn’t super clear what to wear or bring - it’s colder up there so a light sweater is good, and while they recommend not to bring a bag, it’s easy enough to leave something small when you’re up there. And you’ll need cash to rent the go pro, which was really helpful- the pictures turned out great!

Amazing time paragliding with great view! Highly recommend and would do this again. Also the service is very professional and organised. We feel safe and secured and free to enjoy flying in the sky.

At first wife n I were very nervous. Very friendly and experience pilots. Once u are in the air, it is an amazing rush. The view from on top of the mountains is a unique once in a life time experience. So calm n relaxing. Was way easier n less scary 😨 then I thought. Wife who is scare if height, enjoy it. Staff was amazing and friendly. Huge animal lovers. They have a few doggies.

Great experience! I went solo and met a handful of cool, new folks that made the trip even better. Straightforward and professional experience. The bus picked us up in the Parque Lleras neighborhood and took us out to the launch site. You can purchase go pro pics/videos for a low price (which I highly recommend you do). My pilot was friendly and had me at ease the entire time. If you're thinking about it...just do it.

Two of us did this. My friend is severely afraid of heights and even she admitted she would do it again. Amazing experience flying over waterfall and mountainside

It was a great excuse. Very well organised and felt very safe. The take off and landing were well performed. The instructors really know what they are doing. Highly recommend
