Description
Unlike traditional markets, the Maeklong Railway Market is set up directly on the train tracks. Vendors display their goods such as fresh seafood, fruits, vegetables, and other local products right on the ground where the train passes through. As the train approaches, vendors quickly retract their awnings and move their goods to make way for the train. It's a thrilling and unusual sight to see a bustling market transform into a clear path for a passing train within seconds. Recommend : The early morning trip 5.50 am and 6.30 am will be less tourist and more time at both market

Meet the group and drive 1.5 hour from Bangkok to Maeklong Railway Market is a traditional Thai market selling fresh vegetables, food and fruit in the province of Samut Songkhram, southwest of Bangkok. What makes the market special is that it occupies part of a train line. A few times a day, a train runs directly through the market. A few minutes before the train comes, vendors lower their umbrellas and move some of their produce away from the train tracks.

We had a fantastic day being guided by Thew! Thew really looked after us, making sure we knew all about the history and tried all the local food and delicacies.
A very enjoyable day. Our guide Thew was so friendly and knowledgeable- and made sure we could explore and enjoy the markets in a way that would not have been possible on our own. Highly recommend as a way to explore the train and floating markets
Grace is a wonderful guide; we really enjoyed her commentary and how she made sure we felt comfortable, and she was taking photos of us the whole time. The excursion itself is highly recommended, especially the floating market—quite an experience!

One-of-a-kind experience! We absolutely loved our guide, Pui. She was so attentive, kind, and made the experience even more special. She also took lots of pictures for us and gave us great recommendations for places to eat and take photos. I would definitely recommend this tour, especially for families with older kids!

Nice experience, our guide Winny Pooh made sure that we could film back across the market in front of the train. She could tell a lot and well about the old market and the floating market of the past. A big disadvantage is that you will be kicked out on your way back in the middle of the busiest part of Bangkok. So no taxi to get there either. But couldn't help our guide. Hope the company picks this up and just drops it off at the starting point. There's also a taxi rank there.

It was a tour that was half a day long but had a lot of fun. It was a particularly valuable experience to actually be caught up in a water boat. I think the guide was kind and became good to know Thailand.

We had a fantastic half day tour with the lovely Billie! We were collected at 8am from our hotel in a very comfortable bus, we then made the journey towards the train station, we stopped for refreshments and a bathroom break before continuing on to board the train! The train was a fabulous and authentic feeling experience, it went through the market and it was lovely to wave at everybody inside! We then got off the train and explored the market! After this we got back into the van and travelled to the floating market, this was such a fun and different experience! We were on a long boat with 4 other people were we were paddled through the stalls and got to admire all of the lovely produce. We then had lunch and another little explore before returning to the van and getting dropped back to Bangkok central. As a couple on our honeymoon we would definitely recommend this trip. Billie was gorgeous and had lots of knowledge about Thailand and all that we explored!
