Wonderful tour! Very educational and enjoyable. We had a quiz at the end (no pressure) and it was clear we learned a lot about the city and its history. Low cost, but do bring some euros for a tip! Would recommend!!

Free tours are operated by a range of mostly self employed guides. They rely on tips to cover administrative expenses charged by the platforms through which they are booked so please understand this before participating. Christian explained this to us before the tour started on a sultry evening in Madrid and did a great job in informing and entertaining our quite large group - 13 had come together which produced a slightly different atmosphere to the usual groups where very few do. This helped to relax the group and we learnt lots about the Hapsburgs who’d ruled Spain in its various guises with a number of innovative visual aids. It must have helped as we got all the answers right in the light hearted quiz at the end. I’d be delighted to have Christian as a guide again.
We have had a great walking tour around Madrid. Victor was a really outstanding guide - he had lots of information for us, he told some good jokes and even sang us a couple of songs! In our experience, it's the quality of the guide that makes the tour special, and Victor put in loads of energy to make sure we had a good time. He was also very thoughtful about the extremely hot weather, making sure that all our stops were in shady, relatively cool places, and walked at a sensible pace that wasn't tiring at all. Victor is a really talented guy - his mum and dad must be very proud of him!
Absolutely fantastic and out-of-the-ordinary experience! Sasha is not just a guide, but a true performer: he set the entire tour by playing the part of the court jester and transforming all of us participants into kings, queens, and princes. Besides having a lot of fun with his jokes and his show, we discovered the historical part of Madrid in a light, engaging, and memorable way. If you want to visit the city while laughing and feeling like true royalty for a day, Sasha is the perfect guide. Highly recommended!

An awesome tour, gave a great part of the history of old Madrid and was a perfect way to introduce ourselves to the city and feel more comfortable wandering around the maze that is downtown.
