The first stop on our Hanoi By Night Jeep Food Tours is at a small cafe that Hanoians claim is the greatest place in town for Banh Cuon (steamed rolled cake). As we receive a front-row seat to the culinary process, the professional chef will show how the components are combined. Our journey continues through the alleyways of the Old Quarter, bathed in the glow of bright lanterns and ornamental lights, as we ride along the bank of the Red River, taking in the vistas of Hanoi at night.

The second part of our Hanoi By Night Jeep Food Tours takes us to one of Hanoi’s most well-known family-run restaurants, where you will be able to sample Bun Cha ( grilled pork with vermicelli noodle). You’ll be taken on a journey to West Lake to soak in the nighttime landscape. A great place to witness the contrast between old and new Hanoi, with centuries-old picturesque areas on one side and modern skylines on the other. Before arriving in Ngu Xa village, sample freshly grilled fish and a variety of Hanoian versions of Pho, banana salads, and other classic Vietnamese delicacies.

It’s a busy lane full of folks going about their evening routines, right adjacent to active railway tracks!

“Happy” in Hanoi
This is a must do in Hanoi. We were lucky to have “Happy” as our guide, and that she was! She was very informative and knowledgeable. The whole evening was well planned, eateries we were in and out, well organised, and train street was fantastic. Happy ensured we had lots of family pics for our memories and that we all enjoyed the tour tailoring local knowledge and information to each of us.
Very “happy” we did this tour. Well worth the money.

We had an amazing time on the Hanoi Jeep Night Food Tour! It was one of the highlights of our visit to Hanoi.
Summi was an excellent guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the city. She shared fascinating stories about Hanoi’s history, culture, and food, making the evening both fun and informative. Minhba was a very safe and skilled driver, and we always felt comfortable, even in Hanoi’s busy traffic.

Warm and knowledgeable guides
The crew was punctual and 2 jeeps were arranged for our party of 6 although the company assured us that we could fit in one jeep.
Guides Summi and Happy were most hospitable and knowledgeable, and offered interesting history to the places we visited. Drivers Kai, Minhba and escort Minh all had a keen eye for details and are sensitive to our needs.
