This workshop offers the participants the opportunity of making their own personalized leather object using only their hands and a little imaginacion. The participants can choose between a wallet, a travelling purse, a handbag, a glasses case, ..or maybe they wish to design something different . The process is not difficult and the teacher will help all the time. The satisfaction of creating a useful, long lasting and attractive piece of handcraft is incomparable! Another highlight of this experience is the fact that the workshop is situated in the centre of Madrid which is the oldest part of the city, in a neighbourhood called La Latina which is near the Cebada Square. It is an area where the biggest Street Market takes place every Sunday called El Rastro. El Rastro is full of Antique and Handcraft shops and stalls, together with a great amount of restaurants, bars and coffee shops. One of the main streets is Ribera de Curtidores or Tannery road where there are many Leather shops.

Amazing experience, funny and well directed
I was there this week with my 14-year-old niece and my 8-year-old daughter; it was a perfect experience. We spent a very pleasant afternoon learning to work with leather, and each of us made a piece that turned out very well. Good atmosphere, good background music, spectacular views of the south of Madrid from the workshop. Michael adapts to everyone's level and ability. Interesting conversation about art, history... I will repeat. Perfect for going with family or for going with friends.
Michael was a great teacher — patient, friendly and made the whole experience really enjoyable. I loved being encouraged to use our own creativity and choose the finishing touches for our pieces from the workshop’s treasure trove of materials. The complimentary cold drinks were a lovely touch too. A great activity for a rainy afternoon in Madrid, and he was very accommodating when local fiesta traffic made me late. Highly recommend!
I recently took a leather crafting class and it exceeded all my expectations. The class was incredibly informative — the instructor walked me through everything from selecting the right leather and tools to techniques for cutting, stitching, and finishing, explaining the "why" behind each step, not just the "how." What really stood out was the individualized attention. The instructor took the time to check in on my progress, check my technique, and offer tips tailored to what I was working on. It never felt rushed or generic. By the end of the class, I walked away with a genuinely beautiful, handcrafted piece that I'm proud to use every day. I'd highly recommend this class to anyone curious about leatherworking, whether you're a total beginner or looking to sharpen your skills.
I was fascinated by this experience. Michael is a great teacher. Very patient, knowledgeable about the technique, helpful and pleasant. I highly recommend this experience!
It was an awesome adventure of crafting! The class sizes were super appropriate and although it took 2/3 of us a little longer than the class allowed, Michael was generous and allowed us to continue working. He was very skilled and gave quality instructions! If you are a creative soul, then Get Around It!
The workshop is well equipped, the choice of leather is endless and the skill and passion for the leather craft is clearly visible.
Michael is very kind and explains the entire production process very clearly. He guided us step by step on how to make our piece, in addition to sharing his knowledge as a leatherworker. We felt like leather artisans for a few hours. 😊
Miguel is the best! He walked us through whatever project we chose step by step. We learned about the old way of hand made leather goods including the tools and how to use them. My friend and I made large leather wallets. I’m very pleased with my final product!
