What a special tour! Very informative about cacao, how chocolate is made, the history of the farm, and the local history of Lahaina. Ty was an excellent guide!
Our guide Ty did an excellent job explaining the cocoa growing process. He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We appreciated all his back stories and experiences.
It was fun to see how the cacoa pods grow and are harvested! Plus delicious chocolate!
TripAdvisor instructed guests to arrive at 10:00 AM. At 9:44 AM, we received a call asking when we would arrive, and we confirmed our ETA was 10:00 AM. The parking and entrance were not clearly marked, so we called customer service for directions but could not reach anyone. I dropped my friend at the entrance at approximately 10:03 AM while I parked; I entered the building at about 10:05 AM. After my friend checked us in, the woman at the counter announced to the group that they were “still waiting on these last two people who are late.” About two minutes later, she repeated the announcement and emphasized that we were holding up the tour. Since we followed the stated 10:00 AM arrival time, repeatedly labeling us as late was unnecessary and unprofessional. Clearer parking instructions and more respectful communication would have made for a much better start. The tour itself was enjoyable, but we would not rebook or recommend it because of the rude reception we received upon arrival.
Interesting to see how chocolate is made.
Very informative. Stephanie was a great tour guide. The tasting in the treetops was fabulous. The chocolate was out of this world.
Walk thru trees to see different varieties. No factory. Nice variety of chocolate to taste. Good tour.
A great way to learn about growing chocolate especially on a sustainable farm annd that it’s non-profit!!! So interesting! It was an incredible time! Nicole was great!!!
A bit over priced. For the amount of money paid, the farm and factory tour should be combined.
As my husband is a retired confectioner I knew this was a tour he would enjoy. Learning about the plucky retired gentleman who dreamed up the whole idea and then set it in motion left him with a desire to hear more, so after the farm tour, he booked the factory tour. I waited for him upstairs where there is an open air cafe of sorts, where both alcohol and soft drinks are served. I enjoyed talking with other guests and the sweet staff who worked there. After his tour, we stayed and had sandwiches. It was a really interesting experience if you love chocolate. And we tasted a lot of chocolate and loved it all!
