Guide was knowledgeable but not very entertaining...did not hold one's attention. Would have been better if guide had engaged with tour group more.
Dear Dinesh, thank you for your feedback. We are glad you found the guide knowledgeable, and we appreciate your honest note that the tour could have been more engaging. Bringing the history of La Scala to life is important to us, so we will share your comment with our guiding team to encourage a livelier, more interactive style with the group. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again on another of our experiences in Milan. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.
On our first visit to Milan, Italy noted, knowledgeable and engaging city guide Fabrice led us through the labyrinth of Milan’s checkered history through the maze of the exceptional and lesser known former villa Palazzo Morando. Located in the center of the city’s world renowned fashion district (think Gucci, Armani, Prada, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and others), Milan is home to the Duomo, one of the world’s largest and most architecturally intricate cathedrals, Leonardo’s masterpiece The Last Supper as well as the celebrated opera house La Scala. Known as Italy’s hub of finance, fashion and design as well as architecture and international matters, the ancient city was twice a capital before Rome and as Fabrice illuminated against the museum’s daunting collection of canvases, sculptures, frescoes, stuccos and displays dominated and impacted by a broad array of indomitable cultural influencers: First as a Celtic settlement, then under the control of Spain, the Roman Empire, German/ Austrian rule twice, Napoleon, playing a key role in Italy’s unification, though late to join the party, the infiltration of the mafia, and, later, during the dark era and, finally, shocking downfall of Mussolini and his reign of fascism. The frosting on the hour plus tour was a celebration of Milan’s coffee culture at the posh nearby Marchesi 1824. I had a tres chic shakerato in a martini glass. Divine! The lovely and peaceful, uncrowded villa museum with its exquisite courtyard, original bed chamber, impressive collection (it is also the keeper of the city’s costume and fashion collection) and uber kind staff is free. Fabrice and his illustrious city walking tour complete with secret list of city’s hidden gems can be reached for bookings via WhatsApp + 393929126102.
We are French and the young Italian guide speaks very understandable English. Passionate and masters his subject, open to questions. Also a visit of the exterior for a complete tour of La Scala. Small group tour of 6 people (very appreciable). Allows time to look at and appreciate the works, nothing is done in a rush.
Very informative but quick tour for those whose attention span is limited. This particular tour guide finished early which was disappointing but overall, he did tell us all
Very beautiful visit and many discoveries.
Great visit at La Scala with pleasant and knowledge guide. The ticket offers opportunity to explore the museum on your own after the guiding is finished, but the guiding covers the most of what is to see. Recommended!
It was an incredibly beautiful experience, and I learned a lot about the Scala. The woman who led the tour was very friendly and open to all questions. Simply great
For any performing arts nerds, this is a must visit when in Milan. Our guide was terrific. What thrill to see this palace of live performance!
Our guide, Beatrice, was incredibly knowledgeable. A beautiful venue with a truly interesting history
This tour provided a lot of great information about both the theater and the evolution of opera in Italy. The guide was excellent!
