Be prepared for a long tour on your feet, mostly going downstairs. Great exhibitions of talent and engineering. Also a holy and religious place. Our guide was great and very informative. Organization on transport , pick up was confusing, but it all worked out. Thank goodness we all took the lift back to the top ( no climbing) and of course, I purchased a small bag of salt
Such an amazing site to visit, beautiful mine with extraordinary intricate salt sculptures, chandeliers, and chapels. The mine itself is remarkable! Unfortunately, the communication, transportation and tour with Discover Cracow were a huge disappointment. We requested hotel pickup and dropoff and submitted our hotel address. We were notified of an additional transportation fee due to our hotel location, which we agreed to. Sadly, we sat in front of our hotel waiting for transfer at the designated pickup time and no one arrived or communicated with us. After 30 minutes of waiting and no communication, we reached out to someone through WhatsApp who boldly told us we were at the wrong hotel, and there would be no pickup. They eventually recognized their error and located a taxi for our transportation. We arrived at the salt mine without further communication from our tour guide. Our tour was informational, but our tour guide ended the tour prematurely, and left us to find our way back to the designated gathering location, which caused some of our group to become lost. We eventually found our way to the bus for transportation back to our hotel. We were shocked to be dropped off at the bus depot, not at our hotel as previously arranged. Not only were we now at an unknown and unexpected location, but we were verbally abused by Oliwia, the tour guide, who told us it was our fault. We had to coordinate our own transportation back to our hotel. This was overall a sour experience and huge disappointment.
It was stunning. The tour was very interesting and the guide was amazing. It’s a lot of steps and I was exhausted by the end but would definitely recommend this tour.
I booked the tour through Viator and arranged a pickup time for the next day. I was subsequently messaged by a company I’d never heard of altering that time. Viator should have told me who was actually operating the tour to avoid any confusion. The tour was just ok as the guides English was difficult to understand at times.
The Salt mines are.a definite must see when you are in Krakow. Value for money.
Really interesting and some beautiful sites BUT there were 39 people in our group this is to many you could not always hear what your guide was saying as the headset cut out You almost had to run round so the group behind did not catch you up try and pick a quieter time to visit
We had to wait 15 minutes for someone who was late and then didn’t show up and made us behind on everything else that day. Appreciate they couldn’t control this but it made two passengers leave as they were worried about getting back on time. The actual salt mines were amazing but the system this had was a bit unorganised and we didn’t get any time to have anything to eat there as we had arrived late and then they were conscious of getting back on time. Which was disappointing as we felt rushed and couldn’t experience the area as much as we like to after
This is just the transportation not the actual ticket to the mines, Poorly communicated, an uber would of been cheaper than the bus
Trip to mine good, guide with bus very informative, however 20 mins late leaving to get to mine due to late arrivals. You get a different guide at the mine who was very good, but large groups and we were rushed around. A bit disappointing as felt we did not get to see things at times or have time to enjoy the mine due to being rushed
