Itinerary
One of the two most popular shrines in Kobe City. It is a shrine, and for this one, it is more muted... without the famous orange/red every where. Very popular for many different important celebrations for locals.
We will be passing through Harbor land and Meriken Park. This is a beautiful port area for both locals and travelers alike. In Meriken there are many eateries and shops to browse.
The place where locals love to shop. Closer to Daimaru store, the shops are more so cosmopolitan, and going towards the Kobe Station side, you see a mix of new, and old (many generations owned stores).
China Town nestled on the side of Motomachi. You will feel like you are in a totally different area from when you step into this street.
Prior Kobe City Mayors private residence. On the grounds, a European designed horse stable, beautiful Japanese gardens with hidden areas to explore, and an old boat house. Also transplanted here is a home from a foreign settler tradesman; and most days we are able to tour through this home.
8-hour Experience is recommended if you would like Nunobiki Falls included. Nunobiki features the flowers that bloom in the season you visit. As you walk down the garden paths, you have views of the Kobe City Ocean/Sky line along the way. Fun ride up the mountain on a rope-way "gondola"; and on your ride up, you can see the Nunobiki waterfall, and other homes, foliage.... and not forgetting to mention, the skyline view of Kobe City. Once at the top, visit the essential oil museum and smell some samples, walk down the path with many smaller gardens placed in beautiful patterns, and visit a greenhouse with wonderful sight and sound of streaming river. If you want, you can also have lunch at the herb restaurant, (with courses of edible flowers). You can't go wrong here if you want to see all that Kobe City landscape has to offer, (mountains, oceans, and all thats in between).
Want to try KOBE BEEF? We can end your tour at a recommended restaurant, so you can take your time enjoying. If you prefer to have Kobe Beef for lunch during your experience, we can do that too.
What OTHER INTERESTS did you have in mind? Sake Tasting? We can either go to a local brewery museum, or go to a popular sake bar. Your choice, just let us know.
One of two most popular shrines in Kobe City. Vibrant colors, old history, and getting to this shrine is fun because you go through the entertainment part of Kobe.

Great experience for those that like walking. Hits many highlights and hidden treasures. Tour guide Kyoko was pleasure to spend time with and very knowledgeable and helpful. Her advice is indispensable if you're doing travel in Japan on your own.
We are very glad you enjoyed your experience in Japan, and with us. Thank you so much for your review. We really appreciate it.
We enjoyed our tour with Michelle. She speaks excellent English. Michelle provided keen insight into the Japanese culture and customs from a unique perspective being she has spent considerable time living in an English speaking country.
Thank you for providing a review for your Kobe tour. We really appreciate it.
We had a great time with Michelle! She was so sweet and full of information. We learned alot about Kobe's past and present. The Kobe beef restaurant she took us to was top notch! The best beef we've had! Thanks Michelle and we'll definitely recommend her to anyone we know who will be visiting Kobe.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are delighted that you had a great Kobe experience, and loved Michelle. Kobe Beef is some of the best beef in the world...glad you had a chance to try it.
We had a great time for this tour. Our guide Michelle was excellent, she was very good at planning and adjusting the itinerary according to our interests. She had lots of experience when arranging for one of our guests with mobility and accessibility challenges. She recommended and helped us to rent motorized wheelchair at the Kobe Herbs Gardens for strolling down the slopes, it was so much easier than using our manual wheelchair to stop start on the downslope course. She also knows what children would be interested and like to see. Michelle even assisted to call up restaurants in last minute to arrange for sake tasting, considering it was a busy day of New Year’s Eve party occasion. Highly recommended.
Thank you for such a detailed review. This will help many that are interested in visiting Japan. We are glad you enjoyed your Kobe experience with the many unique things Kobe has to offer. We are also happy to hear that you had a wonderful experience with Michelle as well.
Michelle was a great guide and took me all over in Kobe giving me an experience that would be very hard to coke by on my own. Highly recommend anyone not familiar with Kobe taking on this experience.
Thank you for your detailed review and recommendation; Michelle and City Panorama appreciates it. We are glad you enjoyed your Kobe experience.
Kobe had such a variety of vibe throughout the city…it was unexpected. Our guide Michelle answered all our questions, had a great sense of humor, and it was obvious she loves Kobe.
Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your Kobe experience, and had all of your questions answered. We aim for better than expected :-)
Better than expected. We visited some main places, but also walked down small streets that we never would have known to go on our own. Our guide Michelle gave us lots of fun facts along the way, explained how Kobe City was different from other cities in Japan, and even how Japan was unique from our USA. She was pleasant, fun, and loves Kobe. Thank you for a memorable time.
We are glad you enjoyed Kobe...yes, it is beautiful. Taken the paths less traveled makes an experience all the better :-). We are happy to have been a part of your travel journey.
Michelle was great! Her personality was wonderful, she had a great sense of humor, and it was like seeing Kobe with a friend. It was obvious she loves this city :-)
Thank you for your review. We are glad you had a great time. This is exactly the experience we strive for.
Great day touring with our guide Michelle. She is bilingual from Kobe and US so was easy to communicate with. Her sense of humor was a bonus. At the end of the tour, Michelle recommended a very good Kobe beef restaurant.
We are glad you had a very good time. Communication is important, so are glad this was a good experience for you all as well. Thank you for your review, we really appreciate it.
