Kayaking on Upper Mreznica River - Slunj, Croatia
Description
The Upper Mreznica Canyon is a truly wild and beautiful gem, away from the tourist crowds of Zagreb and Plitvice. The river forms travertine barriers, so that we have 15 waterfalls on just 3km of river. The highest fall is 8m high - you can jump down into it or walk around. The river creates pools of warm water between the falls, which make for perfect refreshment, and for some easy paddling to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Kayaking is the best way to enjoy this stunning spot of nature, because it combines easy floating down the river with some fun - riding down the waterfalls. Even if you have never done it, believe us, it‘s fantastic and your guide will keep you safe! Because the water is calm between the falls, and we don't have long sections of paddling, this trip is suitable for almost everyone - children from 6 y.o. up to seniors. On the waterfalls, your guide directs each boat individually, to make sure you get down in a fun and safe way.

An excellent day with Denis & team kayaking on the Mzrenica river! The scenery is absolutely stunning. We were a little nervous about going down the small waterfalls but the team helps you navigate them expertly. We did it with an 8 year old so the trip is fine for younger children. We also appreciated the small group size, we were only 8 guests plus 2 crew. It made for a great atmosphere. Some tours are much bigger groups.
Our family of 4 had a blast! It was our kids (7 and 10) first time rafting and Denis did a great job with instructions beforehand, and checking on them throughout the trip. the added fun of sliding into the water on the back of the raft, jumping off cliffs, and paddling under a waterfall made for an incredibly memorable day. Highly recommend!
The kayaking adventure was amazing. It exceeded all expectations thanks to the gorgeous views and excellent guide, Denis. He was great at guiding us through some waterfalls and drops and allowed us to do it on our own when possible. He took pictures and videos throughout the trip on his waterproof camera so we could leave our phones behind. The flat parts of the river are just as beautiful. We saw lots of fish and turtles on our route. The cliff jumping was also a highlight of the trip.
