Description
We have partnered with Karbonkelberg Adventures to bring you a truly community based adventure in Hout Bay. Our kayak trip allows you to experience Cape Town's famous Chapman's Peak Drive from a completely different perspective. Our kayaks are stable and easy to paddle and our guides are well trained and enthusiastic about the ocean, the wildlife and the local culture, history and heritage. There's an excellent chance of seeing some wildlife, including various bird species, cape fur seals, sunfish and possibly even whales.

My son and I went kayaking with Gravity Micro Adventures at the end of September when the weather was great and the bay was calm. We were guided by Brent who was friendly and welcoming. The kayaks we used were tandem sit-on-tops and a lot more stable than the kayaks I'm used to paddling. Brent lives locally so he knows all the best spots to find dolphins. We saw literally dozens on our 2 hour trip and they jumped clean out of the water right by our kayak and passed right underneath us too. Brent had a good knowledge of the history and wildlife of the area. There were changing rooms to change afterwards (although you don't get that wet) and a secure place to leave your bags. Finding the location is easy as the city sightseeing hop on/off (blue line) bus stops 60 seconds from the meeting point. Highly recommended if you have a half day in the Cape Town area.
Really enjoyed the experience. Mishack has good knowledge of the area and knew where to go to show me the Heaviside's dolphins. Will recommend for anyone who likes nature and adventure.
Thanks so much for joining us - we hope to see you again in future.
Brent and his son Mishack were great, they gave us a private tour around Hout Bay. We saw several dolphins and seals, and we had originally booked the tour in Simons town to see the penguins, but due to bad weather we were directed to Hout Bay instead, with only a low chance to see penguins, but it turns out that we were lucky to encounter those too! Brent and Mishack were great at taking it in our own pace, teaching us the techniques to kayak in the best way possible. Not only did they teach us how to find where the dolphins were, we also got told lots of stories about the bay, the town area, the landsapes around the bay and a little bit about Brent himself. Can definitely recommend!
Brent and Mishack are awesome - we're so glad you enjoyed meeting them.
Thoroughly enjoyed it and the guide was friendly and extremely helpful. Would recommend and do it again!
I had an apprehensive wife and son who had not done kayaking before but Andrew was very understanding and within 5 minutes they were out on the ocean, watching dolphins jumping out the water around them. Thank you. Memories we will have forever.
Loved it, thanks Gravity! Weather was perfect and made a very special day even that more perfect. Thanks again!
This is such a fantastic day out and an opportunity to experience the beauty of the Cape from a different perspective. The equipment is of top quality and the guides helpful, friendly and most importantly very experienced and trustworthy. I highly recommend this day out as a special treat for family and friends.
