⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Adventure to Secret Falls! We had such a wonderful time on this excursion! Our guide, Mikyla, was absolutely amazing. She explained everything perfectly, taught us about the area culture and plant life, made us feel comfortable the entire time, and was so much fun to spend the day with. She really made the experience even better! The kayak paddle was beautiful and enjoyable, and the hike to Secret Falls was easy, scenic, and absolutely gorgeous. And once you reach the waterfall—so worth it! It was the perfect reward after the kayak and hike. You don’t need to be experienced in either but you must be able to hike over 2 miles and paddle 7 miles. Do not wear flip flops. Close-toed hiking sandals are the best! The whole adventure was well organized, beautiful, and such a fun way to experience Kauai. We would absolutely recommend this excursion to anyone visiting the island. And if you’re lucky enough to get Mikyla as your guide, you’re in for an extra special experience! Definitely one of the highlights of our Kauai trip! 🌺🌴💦
This experience was incredibly fun, the tour guide Mikaela was awesome, and the views were beautiful.
We had an amazing time! Our guide was fantastic. She was fun and shared great information about the island!! Thank you Annie!
BOOK THIS EXCURSION! Request Mikayla, if possible. We had so much fun! Mikayla was literally the best tour guide we’ve ever had. She was amazing at keeping a pace that suited our diverse group. She knew so many random facts. SHE IS FRIENDS WITH THE BIRDS! This bird literally hung out with her while we found worms for him. It was so much more than a paddle and a hike. We walked away with a true appreciation of the area and history. IMPORTANT NOTE: Don't try to go on your own without a guide. We could see how some of the crossings could get dicey if you're not with a professional. Things change quickly on Kauai, and flash flooding is real. In fact, when we came back, a company was looking for folks who had rented kayaks and hadn't returned them yet.
Great trip down the river and so fun with Makayla, as she is so funny and very helpful. I liked going on the 12:45 pm trip as it was nice with a small group. Super chill kayak and not hard at all!!!
We had an amazing experience kayaking and hiking to Secret Falls with our guide, Mikayla! From the very beginning, she made the experience stress-free. The night before, she texted us with clear information about where to meet, what to wear, and what to pack, which really helped ease any anxiety we had about the logistics. Mikayla was knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire day feel relaxed and enjoyable. The kayak portion was beautiful, and the hike to the falls was relatively easy. We had plenty of opportunities to take breaks, and Mikayla used those moments to teach us interesting facts about the local plants and wildlife. I would definitely recommend taking a guided tour for this experience. Having someone who knows the area, understands the trail and river conditions, and can provide local knowledge really adds to both the safety and enjoyment of the adventure. And the waterfall itself? Absolutely worth the hike! Secret Falls was amazing to see, and it made for a memorable day. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Mikayla!
Mikayla was the best guide! She made it very fun. The river was higher than normal and she was very aware of our safety because of the downpour. Despite it being very rainy, we had a great time kayaking and hiking to the secret waterfall. We had an early trip so we were one of the first groups to get to the waterfall. She took a picture of me and my husband since it was our 40th anniversary. She gave us plenty of information as we kayaked and walked. We enjoyed both the kayaking and the hike that wasn’t too challenging. It was muddy, but that was because of the rain. Highly recommend going on this trip with Mikayla! You won’t be disappointed!
This is a great-value tour packed with a full afternoon of activities. The river we kayaked through is very scenic. You paddle back and forth (45min one-way) to the waterfall. It is an excellent workout and fun experience especially if you enjoy water activities. We went with a very nice and chill group and our tour guide controlled the activity timing very well. There is not much view on the hike but I loved the waterfall. We were one of the final groups at the waterfall so it is not crowded and everyone had plenty of room to enjoy themselves (if you can, book one of the afternoon groups of this tour). The waterproof backpack they distributed was very helpful. Meanwhile both the kayaking and the hike we did turned out to be fairly strenuous. There are three to four sections of the hike where you’ll need to wade through water. Most are slightly above ankle-deep, while the deepest may reach above your knees. As this isn’t clearly stated in the tour description, be sure to bring suitable footwear and quick-drying clothing.
Absolutely loved this tour, the weather was great, the kayaking was fun and not too difficult. There were some parts where we were slightly against the current but nothing too crazy. Our guide made sure to check on us multiple times and the stop at the waterfall was gorgeous. Our guide was super friendly and offered to take photos for us as well.
Beautiful views! Super fun experience. Wear good water shoes with traction for the hike and walk through the river. Annie was a wonderfully fun guide.
