Cruise on Tonle Sap Lake, one of Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lakes and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Renowned for its remarkable biodiversity, the lake is home to numerous species of fish and migratory birds, making it a vital ecosystem for both wildlife and local communities. During the monsoon season, the lake swells dramatically as the Mekong River floods, reversing its flow and creating a unique, seasonal floodplain. This phenomenon not only supports a rich fishing industry but also sustains the livelihoods of thousands of families who live in floating villages, showcasing the lake's integral role in the region's culture and economy.

What a beautiful time we had. Our guide was generous and patient with my many questions! Allowed me to stop and take pictures or talk to people whenever I wanted to. No pressure to move along fast at all. The people were busy keeping their lives afloat as we six tromped by, but they had smiles and waves for us the whole day long. This was my favorite part of my Vietnam/Cambodia trip. And by far. So important and good to see how others live, accommodating the swelling river and building their lives on it. Some were floating, some not. All were handing out free million dollar smiles.
With the guide we were able to see how people live along the river and are able to adapt to life when the rainy season comes. Great experience and well worth doing.
Brilliant experience. Lovely welcoming village woth expert tour guide and driver. Village itself is stunning and so well considered.
After an unforgettable visit to the awe-inspiring temples of Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm, I opted to continue the adventure with the optional tour to Tonlé Sap and its famous floating village. Cruising across Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake offered a fascinating glimpse into a unique way of life, where entire communities live, work, and attend school on the water. Along the way, I was treated to sightings of local wildlife, adding another memorable dimension to the experience. What truly stood out, however, was the genuine warmth and kindness of the local people, whose hospitality made the journey feel both welcoming and authentic. It was the perfect complement to a day of exploring Cambodia's rich history and culture.
An amazing experience with Dat. Extremely informative but also with a lot of humour. An exceptional experience
An excellent tour that gave an insight into the lives of locals. Dat was a great guide and shared lots of information
An excellent afternoon excursion with a local guide called JB. His knowledge of the area and local customs was excellent and informative. The boat trip was awesome. Would highly recommend.
The tour was a lot of fun and our guide J.B. provided us with a lot of information.
JB was an amazing tour guide on our trip to see Kampong Khleang floating village. This was such a unique experience and JB shared so much about Cambodian history and his own experiences as well. Unforgettable and one of the highlights of our trip to Cambodia!
After finishing a tour of the Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm temples, I was presented with the optional tour of Tonle Sap and floating village. Was able to see a unique way of life and some interesting wildlife. The hospitality of the locals was second to none.
