Escape to the stunning Scottish highlands and experience the beauty of nature like never before with our working sheepdog, heritage and culture tour. Join us on a journey to a picturesque farm where you'll witness the incredible skill and precision of the talented sheepdogs and their handler as they herd sheep against the backdrop of rolling hills. But that's not all - you'll also have the chance to meet and photograph friendly highland cows, adorable Pygmy goats, fluffy sheep, and majestic horses. This is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the heart of Scotland's countryside and witness the harmony between animals and their farmer on a working Scottish Highlands Farm.

Admission included30 min

Embark on a journey through time and explore the ancient wonders of the Scottish highlands with a visit to Clava Cairns. Famous for its connection to Diana Gabaldon, the Outlander books and TV Series. Step back in time as you visit the Prehistoric Burial Cairns and standing stones of Bulnuaran of Clava, a group of three Bronze Age cairns located near Inverness. These remarkably well-preserved cairns offer a fascinating glimpse into the distant history of Highland Scotland, dating back approximately 4,000 years. Marvel at the intricate construction and design of these ancient burial sites, and learn about the rituals and traditions of the people who once called this land home.

Admission included105 min

Step into the pages of history and explore the enchanting Cawdor Castle, a private fortress built in 1370 by the Thanes of Cawdor, immortalized in Shakespeare's "MacBeth". Unlike many Scottish castles, Cawdor Castle remains in the hands of the Cawdor family, still occupied during the winter months, adding a personal touch to your visit. Explore the exquisitely preserved 11 rooms and wander through the enchanting walled garden, flower garden, and wild garden, each offering its own unique charm and beauty. Experience the rare sight of a Scottish castle that has never been attacked, standing in its original splendor and even retaining the holly tree around which it was first constructed. Delve into the legend of this iconic tree, which can still be seen in the lower reaches of the castle. Step back in time to a world of medieval grandeur and intrigue.

90 min

Step into a world of charm and discovery at the traditional Victorian Market, a shopping arcade where you'll find a delightful array of independent shops offering unique Scottish gifts that you won't find on the high streets. Explore the small boutique shops filled with one-of-a-kind treasures and handcrafted souvenirs that capture the essence of Scotland's rich heritage. From tartan textiles to handmade crafts, you're sure to find the perfect memento to cherish. Indulge your taste buds at the newly renovated food hall, where a variety of street food vendors await with tantalizing treats to satisfy every craving. And don't miss the iconic Bad Girl Bakery, a haven for the naughty boys and girls with a sweet tooth. Indulge in decadent delights that are sure to leave you craving more. Experience the magic of this unique Victorian shopping arcade, where every corner holds a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Prepare to immerse yourself in a world of Scottish charm and creativity.

30 min

Discover the ancient healing traditions of the Celtic world with a visit to the Clootie Well at Munlochy on our guided tour. Clootie wells, found in Celtic regions like Cornwall and Ireland, hold mystical significance and are believed to possess healing powers. Experience the ritual firsthand as you dip a rag or cloot in the sacred waters of the well, tying it to a tree in hopes of alleviating sickness or ailments as the cloth disintegrates. Feel the connection to ancient traditions and immerse yourself in the spiritual energy of this sacred site. If you feel the need to bring your own cloot, we welcome your participation in this age-old practice. For those leaving offerings, please ensure they are small, appropriate, and biodegradable, with pure wool or cotton being the most environmentally friendly choices. Don’t worry if you forget your cloot as we will provide some for the experience.

Amazing personal and informative

We had an amazingly personalized day with Emma. We started the morning with a warm greeting and the day truly followed suit. Emma gave us wonderful historical stories and fun anecdotes that were perfectly suited for our group. She adjusted our itinerary based off of what we wanted to experience and helped make great suggestions for places to visit and some lesser known spots that were great for the kids in our group. I cannot recommend this tour enough.

Premier tour company in Scotland

We had two amazing tours with Emma, one with the listed itinerary, the second one crafted by her on short notice when an alternate tour company cancelled at the last minute. Emma is thoughtful, knowledgeable, experienced and is great company throughout the day. Her vehicles are comfortable and she provides wonderful Scottish tastes and treats to enhance the experience. Book with Macaulay Luxury Travel, you will not be disappointed with any of her tours. Emma and her team are fantastic!

A beautiful castle and a beautiful day!

Beautiful day in Scotland! Cash was prompt at the dock and easy going. He took us to all kinds of beautiful places across Scotland. Sadly, we didn't get to see the highland cows at the farm due to the farm having a conflict until it was too late in the day for us to go. Cash was accommodating and helpful. He took us to the Cawdor Castle where the gardens were gorgeous. We probably took too much time there, but he was willing to let us relax and enjoy our day. He made extra time for us to see the beautiful Highland Coos at the castle. The clootie well was so cool to visit and Cash was ready with the right material for us to soak and hang in tradition. It was a worry free day in Scotland! Sadly we didn't get to pet the Highland Coos as I had hoped, but Cash did all he could to make the day as memorable and amazing as he could!

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to provide the lovely feedback! It was a pleasure to welcome you to Scotland!
