Itinerary
We'll start the day by meeting at The Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel near Circular Quay. One of the best connected areas of Sydney by public transport or a short walk from many of the city's hotels. From here we'll travel in air conditioned comfort in a clean & modern van that sits 10 comfortably.
Enjoy an iconic Aussie pie from an award winning local bakery.
We will spend a few hours exploring some of the best Blue Mountains natural landscapes from the options listed below with a series of short guided wilderness walks away from the crowds: * Immerse yourself in a Jurassic wonderland of giant tree ferns and rainforest that has changed little since the time of the dinosaurs. * Wander through secluded groves of towering Eucalyptus trees, serenaded by birdsong as you breathe in the fresh mountain air and contemplate the region's ancient indigenous heritage. * Dip your toes in crystal clear mountain streams that meander through rainforest canyons before plummeting dramatically as waterfalls to the valley below. * Get up close to ancient sandstone cliffs, intricately eroded over millions of years, that are covered in a dazzling tapestry of mosses, ferns and wildflowers. * Discover native Australian animals in their natural environment, rather than in a zoo.
Wentworth Falls is the largest in the greater Blue Mountains wilderness area, dramatically plummeting nearly 200 metres down to the Jamison Valley below.
One of the most spectacular of all the Blue Mountains lookouts. From Sublime Point you will gaze out from the rim of a vast canyon towards a seemingly endless wilderness of sandstone plateaux, escarpments and gorges filled with eucalyptus trees, wildflowers and Gondwanan rainforest. During the warmer months we'll enjoy a picnic lunch here in the shade of Eucalyptus trees.
On our way to the famous Three Sisters we will take the scenic route through the quiet tree-lined back streets of Leura Village with it's colourful gardens and historic architecture. Eventually we end up on Cliff Drive which follows the rim of the canyon through pockets of rainforest that give way to glimpses of the vast Kedumba Valley below
Descend through a beautiful rainforest filled canyon to a quiet & secluded lookout with breathtaking views of the Three Sisters and Katoomba Falls.
One of the most spectacular and least visited lookouts in the Blue Mountains. A short walk across a windswept plateau covered in wildflowers and sculpted sandstone outcrops takes us to a remote rock platform that gives you a 300 degree view of the seemingly endless canyon walls of the Kedumba Valley.
At Govetts Leap you'll gaze out at a vast and dramatic Eucalyptus filled canyon into which Bridal Veil Falls and Horseshoe Falls plummet abruptly to the Grose Valley below. From here we'll follow the Pulpit track out to an isolated lookout from which you get spectacular views of the twin waterfalls and rainforest covered walls of the canyon. Along the way we'll cross a lovely rainforest gully with billabongs & tree ferns.
Driving across the vast beauty of Blackheath Plateau with it's wildflowers, stunted Eucalypts & wind sculpted rock formations we'll arrive at Anvil Rock lookout. From a remote rock platform that overlooks the mighty Grose Valley you'll have epic views of the vertical sandstone walls that have led some to call this place the "Green Grand Canyon" Also near by is the "Wind Eroded Cave", a sweeping sandstone rock face intricately sculpted by wind over vast amounts of time.
One of the most beautiful pockets of ancient Gondwanan rainforest in the Blue Mountains, Coachwood Glen sits within a narrow canyon that gradually descends hundreds of meters down to the floor of the Megalong Valley. Here we'll wander amongst giant tree ferns, gardens of moss and gentle cascading streams.
Spot mobs of wild kangaroos with towering sandstone escarpments and rolling farmland fringed with stands of Eucalyptus forest as a backdrop.
As the magic hour light bathes a vast expanse of golden sandstone escarpments, we'll explore the wind swept beauty of a plateaux top covered in wildflowers and intricately sculpted rock formations, culminating in a breathtaking sunset away from the tourist hordes.
Our last stop for the day. Echo Point is the most famous of all the Blue Mountains lookouts as it gives you the best, up close view of the iconic "Three Sisters" rock formation, as well as a 270 degree view of the vast Jamison Valley. Particularly spectacular at sunset, one of the great spectacles of the Blue Mountains takes place as multiple large flocks of Sulphur Crested White Cockatoos descend back down to the valley floor to roost for the night. Watch them plummet off the escarpment all around you, tumbling and rolling like daredevil fighter pilots for hundreds of meters and screeching with pure joy the whole way down. A truly thrilling and unforgettable experience!

We went on a day trip to the Blue Mountains with Craig and it was amazing! He was knowledgeable in so much information from the Blue Mountains creation to the trees we were looking at. Craig took us off the beaten path, showing us some amazing trails that a local knows about that the tourists aren’t all going to. You could definitely feel the love that Craig has for the Blue Mountains in his trail guiding. We also got to see some kangaroos and the Three Sisters at sunset, finished off with some drinks and cheese. This was a great experience if you like hiking and want to see some really amazing sites. Craig was also more than happy to take pictures for us which is always super nice when you’re traveling.
Thanks Lindsay! I loved sharing some of my favourite parts of the Blue Mountains with you.
A magnificent day far from the crowded places, as close as possible to nature and with an extremely friendly and competent guide. We highly recommend!
Mariem, merci beaucoup pour cette belle recommandation. Créer une expérience plus intime, où l’on peut vraiment profiter des paysages sans être entouré par la foule, est au cœur de ce tour. Ce fut un vrai plaisir de partager cette journée avec vous.
Mega experience and great guide
Kurz und knackig – gefällt mir! 😄 Danke, dass ihr dabei wart und euch voll auf das Erlebnis eingelassen habt.
Craig was an amazing tour guide! We saw such beautiful sites in the blue Mountains! He took us to places that were off the beaten track , which was great! I would highly recommend this tour if you were staying in Sydney or anywhere!
Some of my favourite locations in the mountains are the ones you’d probably drive straight past unless you knew where to turn. Getting people out to those quieter trails and viewpoints is always one of the most enjoyable parts of guiding. Thanks for trusting me to show you around!
Our guide, Craig, was incredibly welcoming, authentic, and passionate about sharing his knowledge of history, nature, and wildlife. He runs his own business with an excellent, brand-new mini-bus. The trip was well-paced with plenty of restroom and souvenir stops, plus great snacks. Highlights included secret trails, stunning viewpoints, wild kangaroos, and a beautiful sunset. Highly recommended!
Really appreciate this — thanks for choosing my little tour company for your Blue Mountains adventure.
This was a wonderful introduction to the Blue Mountains and a day full of nature and fresh air. We did this in winter (June) and were glad that we brought several layers of clothing as the temp fluctuates during the day. Not overly strenuous, but some slightly challenging climbs, however our guide had ropes to assist and we all felt very comfortable in sturdy shoes or even simple tennis shoes. The views and the history were both phenomenal and the guide, Craig, was informative, pleasant and helpful. Would definitely recommend this as a day trip from Sydney! Oh, and the pies for lunch were delicious- if there are two of you get both the lamb pie and the gluten free lamb pie- they were both wonderful!
Thanks Bobbi! June is a wonderful time to be out there — crisp air, changing conditions and often beautiful clarity across the valleys. A little bit of an adventure is always rewarded with spectacular views all to our selves, but there’s never any expectation that everyone has to tackle the same section; I can usually adapt things to suit the group. Sounds like you embraced the whole winter mountains experience, right down to conducting some important lamb-pie research!
This is the only tour that goes to the Blue Mountains without a wildlife park or scenic railway - exactly what I wanted: real wild nature without the crowds. The day was amazing. We visited quiet spots with no one else around, stopped for delicious Australian pies, and Craig shared snacks along the way. Craig is also a really interesting person and told us many great stories throughout the day. On the way back we saw a whole mob of wild kangaroos and a beautiful sunset. Thank you, Craig, it really was a wonderful day!
Thank you, Marina. It’s especially rewarding when someone chooses the tour specifically because they want nature rather than attractions — that philosophy is really at the heart of FeelGood! Nature Tours. I’m so pleased the quieter locations, stories, wildlife and relaxed pace gave you the experience you were hoping for.
Craig was super friendly and knowledgeable. We didn’t run into any crowds, and the first 1.5 hour walk made all the difference with other tours. Sunset from the three sisters is not to be missed.
Leticia, I’m really pleased you highlighted the walking experience. Getting guests away from the quick photo stops and actually into the landscape is an important part of how I’ve designed the tour. Thanks for recognising the difference — and for spending the day exploring with me.
This was a great tour! Highly recommend!! Although the weather was not cooperative, Craig was able to pivot and take us places with excellent views! He was knowledgeable and gave information about the history of Australia along with the information pertaining to the tour. We saw kangaroos enjoyed watching them in their natural habitat!!
Thanks Raychel — I really appreciate you recognising the flexibility that goes into the day. I deliberately don’t run a rigid itinerary, because weather and conditions can completely change which parts of the mountains are at their best. I’m pleased the change of plan paid off and gave you some excellent views and a memorable wildlife experience.
Wonderful trip, top recommendation beyond the "masses"... a day to catch your breath and enjoy nature 🙏😍 100% recommendation
Danke Maria – es war mir eine Freude, diesen entspannten Tag in den Blue Mountains mit dir zu teilen.
