Itinerary
Our culinary journey begins at a charming local bakery, where we’ll indulge in the iconic brezel, a traditional Tyrolean pretzel. Freshly baked, warm, and with just the right amount of salt, this delicious snack is the perfect introduction to the region’s flavors.
Next, we’ll step into the bustling Markthalle, a local market brimming with authentic Tyrolean produce. Here, we’ll sample a variety of regional specialties, including rich, creamy cheeses and other local delicacies. To complement these flavors, we’ll sip on a glass of fine wine, immersing ourselves in the true taste of the Tyrol area.
As we stroll through the historic, medieval streets of Innsbruck, we’ll make our way to a beloved local restaurant. This is where we’ll enjoy the main dish of our food tour. Whether it’s the hearty Spätzle (dumplings), the flavorful Gröstl (fried meat and potatoes), or the iconic Knödel (dumplings), each dish offers a perfect taste of authentic Innsbruck cuisine.
We’ll then make our way to a local brewery, where we’ll have the chance to sample traditional Tyrolean and Austrian beers. The variety and craftmanship of the region’s brews provide a refreshing taste of local brewing culture.
Our tour concludes at one of the finest cafés in the area, where we’ll satisfy our sweet tooth with the beloved strudel. Flaky and filled with apples, cinnamon, and sugar, this classic dessert is the perfect way to end a memorable culinary tour in Innsbruck.

My husband and I had great food tour with our guide, Inka. She promptly met us at the meeting point and toured us through the historic Innsbruck downtown by churches and musuem and along the river. We walked into a food court like area where beautiful open fresh fruit and veggies were beautifully displayed. We stopped for pretzel, cheese and fruit plate snack which was delicious. Then walked to sidewalk cafe where we were offered several entree choices including meat and vegetable dumplings, mac and cheese or fried breaded cheese dumpling with German coleslaw or goulash and many other options. I settled on the fried cheese dumpling. It was hard to choose but both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Afterwards we walked for desserts. My husband chose apple strudel and I chose chocolate tort dessert. We were so full from the entree so we opted for take out and carried it back to our hotel to eat much later. But, before heading home we strolled through bricked cobble streets and then to a local downtown pub and enjoyed drinks. Neither my husband us nor I drink alcohol so I cant comment on wine or beer choices which were offered along each of the places we stopped to eat BUT while my husband enjoyed his usual diet coke I had a unique " pine resin" drink that was so refreshing and is thought to have a " calming effect". Very delicious. Inka was very knowledgeable about the history of Innsbruck and the interesting things about the area and of course the food that Austrians enjoy. She is also multilingual and very personable. Easy and fun to be with. It was worth the investment of time and money. Highly recommend for this or any other tour of the area.
Our guide, Inka, was very knowledgeable about the food on the tour, on local history, and in general. There were many unique dishes to try and we left full and happy.
My son and I really enjoyed our food tour with Inka. She was generous with her time and knowledge of Austrian food, history and culture. We really enjoyed the foods she selected and getting her insight. It was a great way to try new things and places and see Innsbruck from a different perspective. Would highly recommend!
Loved our guide Inka. She has great knowledge of Austrian history and cultural foods. Highly recommend Inka. Ed and Gloria
Very enjoyable tour. It is much more than just taste local food and drinks. It is often linked to history situations and local customs in the past and from today. Inka is enthusiastic to inform you and spread relevant knowledge. Also to give advice to try other local dishes and to eat at other places. And in the end food and drinks brings people together. Also this tour.
I would give this experience more than 5 stars if I could. Our guide was Inka and we enjoyed a private tour with her. In addition to delicious food and beverages, Inka offered so much insight about Innsbruck and the Tyrol region. It was a pleasure to spend the tour with her. Come with an empty stomach. You won’t be hungry for hours!!
If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. Inka gave my husband and I a personal food tour filled with history and cultural nuggets from Innsbruck and the Tyrol region. The food was delicious and the company was stellar! Come hungry because you will finish this tour completely satiated.
Inka was our guide for this tour. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening with her. As advertised, we were able to try many authentic Austrian dishes and were certainly not hungry by the time we finished. Come with an appetite! Inka also provided us with some insights into the culture and lifestyle of contemporary Austria.
Our tour guide was Inka, she was very well informed all questions we had were answered with even more detail and history than we could have thought it had. Very very cool to experience Innsbruck through this tour. We went in a hotter than usual timing but Inka kept that in mind seating us on the cooler side of each stop. It was truly a nice experience!
The tour was very disappointing and did not deliver the value promised for the price charged. Much of the experience felt misleading. For example, one of the advertised highlights was the Golden Roof, a famous landmark in Innsbruck. However, when we reached the final stop, there was no meaningful connection to the Golden Roof, and it was not actually part of the experience in any significant way. The tour also seemed poorly organized. There did not appear to be any reservations or advance arrangements at the venues we visited. At the wine and cheese stop, we were barely allowed to stay because we had food purchased elsewhere, which created an uncomfortable situation and made it seem as though the visit had not been properly coordinated. The guide, Fredericka, was pleasant and friendly, and she did her best. I am not sure whether she owns or manages the company, so my concerns are not directed at her personally. Overall, the experience was extremely expensive for what was offered. Based on the significant gap between what was advertised and what was delivered, I would appreciate a full refund.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations, although we're pleased to hear that you found Frederika to be pleasant and friendly. We would like to clarify a few points. The Golden Roof is indeed one of the landmarks featured on our route, and the tour is designed to incorporate it as part of the overall experience rather than as a dedicated attraction or extended stop. We regret if this differed from your expectations. Regarding the organization of the tour, we work closely with all of our partner venues, and the stops are planned in advance. The situation at the wine and cheese venue was an isolated misunderstanding and does not reflect our usual arrangements. We apologize for any discomfort this may have caused. We also wish to clarify that the price of the experience covers considerably more than the food and drinks provided. It includes the services of a knowledgeable local guide, the planning required to operate the tour, our partnerships with local businesses, and all of the tastings included throughout the experience. While we respect that you did not feel the tour represented good value, we do not agree that the experience was misleading or substantially different from what is advertised. We strive to accurately describe our tours so that guests know what to expect. We appreciate your feedback and will continue working to ensure every guest has an enjoyable experience.
