Beautiful experience! Departure from Hurghada in an air-conditioned minibus at 3:40 AM, 5 hours of driving with breaks, and arrival in Luxor at 9 AM where the guide Shadia took charge of us. I recommend the short boat tour on the Nile; it is refreshing and very interesting! This excursion includes lunch, which is taken in a buffet restaurant near the banks of the Nile. The day was hot and tiring, but it is worth it!! Special mention to Shadia, who is perfect!

An amazing once in a lifetime trip. We were apprehensive prior to this trip as we were taking our kids along (12 & 14) but the organisation and information provided by our guides on the day we needn't have worried. You get collected from your hotel and you travel to Luxor under your 'travel guide'. Ours was Khalid and he was great. When you get to Luxor you pick up the local guide who takes you round all the sites. Ours was Nahed Hsaher, she was amazing. So informative, her history was amazing, her local knowledge of Luxor was second to none and she was great with our kids. She took you step by step on what we were be doing next and what will be happening next. Being with the family she was constantly putting my mind at ease with the information she was providing. The sites themselves were all worth the heat and the long journey, they were out of this world. Ensure you have plenty of charge on phones and cameras because there are lots of photo opportunities. Your guides supply free water throughout the day (which is amazing), and take plenty of sun cream, hats etc as Luxor is a few degrees hotter than the coastal resorts you will go from. And finally take a little cash, there is an opportunity to catch a small boat across the Nile and purchase a few souvenirs. Like i said an amazing trip and i would recommend to anyone.

This was a very long day but worth it especially Karnak temple worth having a guide as otherwise you won’t understand what you’re looking at. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Loved the optional Nile boat ride and he let my daughters take it in turn to steer the boat. Lunch was nice. There is no shade at all in the valley of the kings without a large brim hat or umbrella you will struggle as the heat was intense I thought I would pass out.
