17:30. Our tour guide will meet you in front of SONG HUONG FLOATING RESTAURANT, we start Hue Walking Food Tour to visit the colorful Dong Ba market, the best whole sale market in Hue city. Here, you will learn how local people choose fresh ingredients to cook their daily traditional homemade food with our foodie guide.
Then continue through Hue Citadel Area and make some stops in local restaurants to try some best local dishes and our local guide can share with you the history and culture of Vietnamese Royalty with life of the Kings; their queens, minor wive, concubines and eunuchs. Please note that, we only driving in living area of local people in the Citadel but not visiting inside Imperial City - Former living area of royal family.
We continue to walk over beautiful Trang Tien Bridge, and make stops in some authentic local restaurants to try some of the Best Authentic Local Food with Banh Khoai (Hue Fried Pancake), Nem Lụi (Grilled Minced Pork in Skewer), Bun Bo Hue (Hue Noodle Soup with Beef), Banh Beo (Steamed Fern-shape Cake), Banh Nam (Steamed Rice Pancake in Banana / Taro Leaf), that made mainly by rice/tapioca flour with Shrimp, Pork, Spring Onions and served with fresh vegetable and delicious dipping sauce.
Then we continue walking to Han Mac Tu Street located along the Nhu Y river (Branch of Perfume river). Here you will enjoy the best typical and popular local dishes, that they only serve in Hue city such as Cơm Hến Huế (Hue Mussel Rice), Hến Xào (Sauteed Clam with Glass Noodle and Herbs). Here you can have time to relax and feel the atmosphere of a beautiful and peaceful river. 20:30. Nhiên was an excellent tour guide. She is very passionate about Hue and its culture. The food was wonderful. We really enjoyed our evening on the motorbikes, touring the city and tasting authentic Hue cuisine.
Nhiên did a great job with our tour. She was kind, attentive and knowledgeable about every dish that we tasted. The food we had was wonderful and authentic to Hue cuisine. Nhiên also made sure we knew a little bit of history of each location that we stopped to eat. We had a very enjoyable evening!
Taking a cyclo is an exciting and fun choice. It took us to the centre of action of Hue or Vietnamese traffic. It was nerve racking initially but the riders for our groip were experienced and made us feel safe. You will be seated in front of the rider with no seat belt but this is easily the best local experience we had on the trip. Food places were great but we were not big eaters so we got full very quickly. Our guide started with a portion for each of us but we had to tell her to order less so we would not waste too much food. Everything was delicious and the eateries we went to were frequented by locals. Authentic experience with great informative commentary by our guide.
The food tour with Nhien was amazing. I was looking for an easy way to introduce my partner to Hue food and Nhien did a wonderful job picking spots that were authentic and delicious. My favorite was the stop at the market to look where restaurants buy wholesale produce. Nhien helped me but mangosteens that I have been craving! She also helped me get the mangosteens after they were accidentally left at one of the food stops 😅. The cyclo drivers were great and thoughtful. We had a great time and hope to go on another tour with Nhien in the few days we're here. Would absolutely recommend if you're in Hue and interested in exploring the food!

We we're with Nhien, who is an amazing tour guide and person. We had a lot of fun with her, she told us a lot about Hué, the culture, the people and the food. The food places were amazing and we could try some very nice foods with local people and not in touristy places. The scooter tour was amazing too and we could see a lot of Hué in a lovely way. I recommand !
Nhien and her other driver were great. My wife was initially nervous about riding on a motorcycle in Vietnam traffic but Nhien made her feel at ease by being a very safe and thoughtful rider. Her local food choices were great, the food was exceptional traditional dishes from local family restaurants.. highly recommend

You get a lot of different kinds of food that is really local. The guide is very nice, friendly and tells many interesting things. Definitely recommended, go on an empty stomach, because you eat quite a lot.
