Matt was FANTASTIC! We joined the express hike as we’re travelling with our 6 year old son and it was just the right amount of time to get the perfect photos, learn some Hollywood history with fun stories along the way whilst we also got to experience a hike. The best start to our tourist day in LA. Meet up point was easy to navigate in our hire car. Highly recommend.
Jon was a knowledgeable tour guide who really made this hike a lot of fun. He took some great photos of us along the way. Highly recommend this tour!
Michaela and Jon kept the whole gang really entertained along with their cute dog, it felt nice having all kinds of social media trendy shots been taken in front of the sign. Jon is really quirky but looked out for everyone throughout the expedition. 10/10 would do it again.
We signed up for the Full Hollywood Hike Tour on a Monday morning in August, and overall, we were glad we did! First, the directions and parking instructions provided before the tour were perfect and made getting there easy. Our guide, Jon, was friendly, funny, and a great storyteller. He shared interesting stories along the way that sometimes made you forget you were even hiking! And then there’s the photography… Jon is an amazing photographer! If you want incredible pictures in front of the Hollywood sign, you will not be disappointed. The photos he took of us honestly look like professional photographs! Another huge plus is the price. You simply cannot beat what you get for the cost of this tour! There are a couple of things I think are worth knowing before you go. The hike to the front of the Hollywood sign was fairly easy and, in my opinion, very manageable for most people. The hike to the back of the sign, however, is a completely different story! I was warned that it would be steep and more difficult, but it was still steeper and more challenging than I expected. That said, I am glad we pushed ourselves and made it because the views from the back are definitely worth it! One suggestion I would make is that when members of the group are struggling, a little extra reassurance to take their time, follow the path, and take whatever breaks they need might make the experience more comfortable. I completely understand that the guides have a schedule to maintain, but knowing that we could slow down without feeling like we needed to keep up with the group would have been reassuring. I would also recommend bringing plenty of water. We started with a bottle of our own, but by the time we reached the top, we had finished it. We asked Jon about getting another bottle for the hike back down, but he had already run out. Having at least one bottle of water available for each person in the group, whether everyone ultimately needs it or not, might be helpful. All that being said, I would absolutely recommend this tour! I have always wanted to see the Hollywood sign, and I truly don’t think there is a better way to experience it—and get the best pictures—than with this tour.
I loved my hiking to the Hollywood Sign, John was a fantastic tour guide, he made the tour very enjoyable and professional, very attentive that we were taking the correct trail back to the inicial point.
Many thanks Jon, Michaela and Mozart for an informative and entertaining hike to the top of the hill and some great photos! Luckily it started off cloudy, so the walking was easy and the view stunning. Highly recommended.
Very entertaining and enjoyable hiking with Jon and his dog Mozart. Jon made a great pictures for us, it will be good memories. So happy we made this hike and highly recommended!
