Hiking back in time: The Remote Villages of Banat
Description
During this trip you will discover many things about the region of Banat, what happened throughout history, learn about the Romanian language and many other. While hiking to the remote village of Inelet we will learn to greet in Romanian and quite a few other expressions so we can get a long with the local family where we will be having lunch :) Situated at more than 1000m ( 3000ft ) above sea level, this hike is an amazing experience that you will not forget. There are only a few houses here, with no electricity, no asphalt and no cars. And this is how they've been living for centuries. Join us to discover many more interesting this about the people living here and talk about their stories.

Itinerary
We will start our drive from Timisoara and head south towards the city of Baile Herculane where we will start our hike
After driving for around 3 hours we will park the car and start our hike towards the remote village of Inelet. On our way up we'll stop to take some pictures of the breathtaking views.
After spending the day in Inelet we will hike back to the car and head back to Timisoara

I cannot recommend this tour enough! Me and my partner had Sergiu as our guide and he was amazing! We had lots of interesting conversations on the way to the villages of Banat and answered any questions we had! We hiked up the mountains to the village and had an amazing traditional Romanian lunch! The tour was very informative and educational, also very impressive at how self sufficient these villages were! When I’m back in Romania I will definitely book another tour if not the same one!

We had a really wonderful hiking tour with our guide Sergiu to a remote village in the mountains. The process worked smoothly - starting with the pickup in Timișoara, the hike and the visit to the host family in the village, and ending with the transfer back to the pickup point. Our guide was extremely informed and made the tour very enjoyable. We learned so much about the country, the region and the history! The views in the mountains were so beautiful, a perfect location to take great pictures. Our host was very friendly and Sergiu translated everything for us. We had a great lunch there and after this we hiked back. I really recommend this tour!
