In this wonderful village you will learn from the ancient methods what the community uses to dye their garments and wool mats with natural pigments. You will also learn from their ancestral methods of making their handmade wool textiles and you will know their gallery where they have all their artworks what they make explain step by step every detail of their methods. Also in this town we will visit a workshop of "shell candles" which are made with mother beeswax and talk about their uses and custom of why the making of these candles.
The guide will tell you the story of the majestic tule tree that is more than 2000 years old and one of the tallest and widest in the world. As it is the first stop what we did and you did not have time to eat breakfast here the ladies of the village arrive to sell tamales, atoles and tacos of stews you can certainly consume some food before leaving to the next point.
You will enjoy its natural inns and petrified waterfalls. Excellent experience. It was fun and most importantly we felt safe. There was even an additional stop at the end to a Mexican bakery. This is a must do tour if you are in or around Oaxaca, Mexico. It takes an entire day. We visited a huge tree - one of the biggest in the world, a traditional rug making home business showing the use of natural dyes, a traditional chocolate making business with free samples, a great restaurant for lunch, the Hierve el Agua - the petrified waterfall, and a Mescal factory with free samples.

The places we visited were amazing. The buffet had multiple options for all type of diets. Warning it is a very long tour - full day. Started around 9am, arrived to the hotel almost 12 hours later. We recommend it.
