Harry S Truman Little White House Admission

Very informative tour of the house and the history of the property

We were looking for something to do out of the brutal summer heat so we decided to give this place a visit. The pricing is too high for the tour and what the house has to offer. The tour should not be more than $20 per person and even that seems a bit steep. I expected a nicer interior for a presidential retreat house. The house is very basic and there was nothing impressive or memorable about it. There are only four rooms to tour and you do not get to see the kitchen. If I had to do it again, I would not return as it was not worth $60 for two people.

I am a big fan of Harry Truman and that era, and I think the Little White House does an excellent job of preserving the essence of a president who took his duties seriously but, at the same time, was humble and didn't take himself too seriously. Our tour guide was Joey, and he did an excellent job of telling the stories and setting the stage. If you go, wear a Hawaiian shirt. It's part of the experience, but I won't wreck the story.

Very nice opportunity to know more about US history. Bob was our guide and he did a fantastic job explaining the importance of the L.ittle White House. I truly recommend it!!

I’ve always been interested in Harry Truman, having taught a unit to my 6th graders about World War II, so I couldn’t pass up the chance to see the little White House! Our guide, Bob, knew his topic very well, and I learned several new things: how Truman loved poker and bourbon, and how many other presidents a notable people have been to this house. I also found it fascinating that it was left abandoned for 12 years, and how the historical society brought it back and restored it!

Our guide Rick was very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the history and learning much about Harry's personality.

Bob was a fantastic tour guide. He is a true historian. He gave us great details about Truman and history of the Little White House. We really stepped back into the time of Truman. I hope you get Bob as your guide.

Beautiful grounds, our guide gave us interesting info about the house and really enjoyed the tour! Definitely recommend if you have time.

this experience was so bad. I’m even writing another review out of anger me and my grandma spent $50 on the tour and did not even learn aboutTruman‘s wife. I couldn’t even tell you her name our tour guide was absolutely terrible. I’d love to know who interviewed him because he sucked bigand all he talked about was drinking and how he wanted to take all of us out to the bars and the house is falling apart. It might be owned by the state, but they clearly haven’t checked up on it because it’s not getting care of. We could’ve used our $50 to have a meal out on the water and order an expensive meal with expensive piña colada drinks I would not recommend I have never been on a worse tour than this please do not visit they were so glad that we walked back by because we were staying on the street because clearly everybody in the neighborhood knows that it sucks. Just look them up on Google. You’ll learn more than you will from our tour guide. Wish I knew his name he didn’t even tell us then he scooted us out of the building. if we could get our money back, we would really appreciate it. We are only staying two minutes away not even that far. We will walk to get our money back. Please do not visit. There’s cracks in the walls. Terrible, terrible terrible terrible terrible we aren’t even going to go on any more of the exhibits around here cause we’re scared. We’ll get ripped off like we did with this one if there’s another hurricane, let’s hope it doesn’t come through by the little White House cause I’m gonna tell you, it’s not gonna make it. Our money must be paying for the air-conditioning. Thank you. I would add photos below, but the house is so crappy they don’t even let you have your phone. They tell you to turn on airplane mode. No wonder it’s falling apart. You don’t even get any information about the house cause they don’t want you to take any photos.
