Halfway to Hana Tour of Maui Black Sand Beach Waterfalls Turtles

Description
Hana has been the most requested tour on Maui for years. Those who live here know that the road to Hana is what we all want to see, and "Halfway to Hana" gives that all to you. It's all within 6 1/2 hours, instead of the long all day full Hana tours. We use Lincoln Navigators (SUV) which has Five " first class"seats and two coach size seats. Your professional guide Summer has driven this road for 20 years, and Sean for 35 years. Everything that's fun to do on this road will be mentioned and offered, including a rich update of any Hawaiian affairs if asked. It's good to go with a local. We offer private if you book all of the seats in a 7 passenger Lincoln navigator and shared if you're booking less. Booking seven seats gives you the whole vehicle. Couples may be in two SUV's following each other at times, 8 stops. Please bring "reef walkers" if you would like to take a dip in a waterfall, rain jacket as well. If you have motion sickness make sure you have your remedy.

Itinerary
Puaʻa Kaʻa State Wayside Park is a state park on the island of Maui, Hawaiʻi. It is located along the Hana Highway approximately 39 mi east of Kahului. The area consists of 5 acres of rainforest with waterfalls and pools. The park is at an elevation of 1,200 ft and roughly 0.5 mi away from Waiohue Bay. Deep in the rainforest this beautiful waterfall beckons you to take a dip, so bring an extra set of clothes and "Reef Walker" type shoes to wade in and walk out safely. Walking up to the waterfall and small pathways brings you throughout this stop with bathrooms and sitting areas, this is a very popular location. This is the turnaround location for this tour. If there is room, we can stop for lunch that we purchase prior to arriving. A must see and do if the water quality allows. Remember, this is a subtropical rainforest and a large rainfall deep in the forest can bring a surge of muddy water at any time so we help you choose out of two locations to take a dip. Rain or shine, its great!
This stop involves walking through a subtropical rainforest and seeing everything that can grow on a small trail into the forest. Many professional photography opportunities. You also should bring shoes to get muddy as it rains often.
This quaint little town you can see the turn of the century type of construction from the old plantation days. If you do stop in this town we suggest that you spend two hours on another day. World renowned for the best surfing waves just beyond it.
One of my favorite waterfalls if we can stop and get into them. This waterfall is restricted to seeing it from only the bridge, according to the owner of the property. This is a perfect example of an amazing waterfall with private access. There are other waterfalls on this road that have public Access.
You can park and have a bathroom break and an amazing view of the valley below. Favorite for photography and for huge expanse of ocean Coastline.
A small staircase brings you to view the whole valley below and the valley behind you. You'll think that you're in Jurassic Park territory. It's a larger than Life view. A must stop with a little bit of parking available from the state.
Depending on the weather the day earlier this falls flows with amazing fresh water from the upper valleys as we passed by.
This amazing location is where the first Hawaiians found water on Maui. Taro fields and an 1800's church that are on display as we drive to the point where amazing pictures of waves crashing into black lava flows into the ocean. We're in good shoes while walking on the sharp rocks is advisable you can also stroll to a restroom stop and view the area.
Small, secluded black-pebble beach with waves for surfing & views of the surrounding green hills. This is off the road and requires an SUV. Our Lincoln navigator is perfect for this.
This is a possible lunch stop and it's the name of the Cafe. We go past this location for about 30 minutes. Great cheeseburgers, fantastic hot dogs, pig and other sandwiches. Smoothies, Banana Bread and more, yummm
In Keanae, this is the first town to have water for the Hawaiians arriving on Maui. Locals love this beach location.
Huge waves, black lava, amazing ocean views. This is a bathroom stop and you may find merchants that have Macnut Brittle upon availability, and coconut water fresh opened with slices available if asked.
Local swimming spot in Keanae

Very informative driver, nice stops the water hole was amazing, the turtles were there every day sunbathing and the volcanic rock beach breathtaking
Such a fun day Breathtaking views, very comfortable SUV, very safe driving. A beautiful way to see the lush vegetation and seascapes on the island. I highly recommend this tour.
It is beyond thankfulness for your amazing review. Guides work hard to make sure your day is perfect Hope to see you visit the islands again Mahalo
It was quite interesting driving on this road. I would not want to drive it myself. Taking only about 9 people was perfect. The driver was knowledgeable. It would e better if he had a microphone as it was hard to hear in the last row of seats. The stop for the best banana bread was nothing to write home about. It was good but not the best, the dream bar was tasty, but the bread wasn't worth the $9.00. If you get motion dick ess, do not take this tour.
Hello, and thank you for trying the Half to Hana . We will address microphone. Some ears have a hard time with a mic, or headset. We will have a solution. The banana bread at the halfway to Hana store is world renowned, but there are some amazing bakers out there in the world and I would think it’s not very hard to make bread perfect for them. The variety here is a little bit different with the apple bananas and the way it taste a little bit smoky it’s unique here.. but I’m sure there’s always a taste test that will tell the tale. Motion sickness is reduced because we try to go under 25 miles an hour and we’re usually going something like 18 but will try to make it better for everybody. Thank you for the great review and hope to see you on the islands again!
honestly, we were skeptical at first. no specific reason why, we just didn't know what to expect for the guide and the tour itself. however, at the end of the tour we couldn't get words out to explain how impressed and happy we were with our tour! i believe we had the lucky opportunity to have the owner as our tour guide and he did not disappoint. thomas was extremely knowledge and acted almost as someone part of our family group. he got out at every stop with us, was our own personal photographer, and made sure we saw what WE wanted to see. thomas knew i specifically wanted to see turtles so he took us to not one but two locations where we saw 10+ green turtles! thomas took us to get some famous banana bread, stopped at multiple water falls, and beach spots. we could not have asked for a better tour guide truly. if you're on the edge with booking this tour, don't be. BOOK IT! i also recommend trying to ask for thomas as the tour guide (;
Hi, it’s always a great day to see the tour went very well. Thanks for the five star review. Our choice of guides has shown to be fruitful. Thanks for telling everyone about your day! Aloha
The half-way tour was just enough for our family. The stops included green sea turtles, an opportunity for local treats, waterfalls to swim and historical stops to round out the horticultural treasures. Our guides were accommodating and adapted to meet the needs of our large group to make everyone as comfortable as possible. I would highly recommend this tour.
Aloha, and thank you for the five star review. The amazing waterfalls and rainforests just can’t be replicated. Mahalos for visiting.
Kellen was a great guide! Bring water clothes and shoes to add to the experience! And maybe some ginger or Dramamine, those curves can get to you. The trip was amazing!
Thanks for the five star review, it really makes our day, especially our guides. Hope to see you again to be part of paradise , Maui style. Mahalo
Kellen was a great tour guide and driver. He was so entertaining with fun facts and history of the Island. The Road to Hana is best with Kellen. The winding roads are not relaxing and he knew how to get us to see the turtles, rain forest and jumping in the Falls. He actually guided us to the path for the jump. He also knew where to take us to enjoy the local treats, like coconut brittle, donuts, coconuts and mangos.

Hello and a big mahalo for all the kind words about Summer. She always has a great day seeing the reviews. Studies and research has complimented her tour with you and it shows. Hope you come back to enjoy more of the Waterfalls, the Turtles and of course the rainforest walks and Banana Bread. Aloha
Good professional company and very careful driver because the road is very winding. And above all the company did everything possible while we were two hours late for disembarkation, indeed the boat having turned around to disembark a sick passenger. Thank you 🙏 we could see this famous Hana road
