Guide completely perfect, very attentive and kind, we liked our guide very much
We were contacted by the tour operator and advised we were unable to take the tour due to demonstrations in the city that day and it was too dangerous. We were offered the following day but as were were travelling home that day we were therefore advised that a refund would be given. However, as yet we have not heard anything from the company nor received the refund and are currently following this up with tripadvisor.
My Half Day tour in Santiago was was cancelled the evening prior.Upon requesting they signed me up for the Monday tour.On Monday the Tour guide was a no show.I was never picked up,so unprofessional.
Picked up promptly at our hotel and taken to city by Fabrizio. The tour started immediately with him providing detailed information of the sites we were passing. He was so knowledgable about the history of and current situation in Santiago. He has a lovely way of explaining both facts and feelings and by the end of the 4 hours we felt he was like an old friend. The highlight of the tour was the modern history museum where we were treated to a trip up the clock tower with views over the city. It was a wonderful tour and highly recommend as an introduction to the city. Thank you Fabrizio for a great day
It was very unfortunate that a person who is not qualified to be a guide happened to be in my “City Tour”. I ordered it in English, but all conversation was with a Spanish speaking tourist in Spanish with occasional translation in poor English for me. Almost no information on history, just very limited info about places we visited. Such a waste of time and I only had one day in Santiago.
On 23 November we took a morning tour through Santiago with a very friendly guide Cony. We has shown us the best of Santiago in these few hours we had before the protests were about to start again in the afternoon. We have got a lot of historical insights. We were lucky to get a private tour and we are glad we did, even though the circumstances are a bit difficult now. When walking through Santiago you'll see a lot of demage, that has been done by the protests. You can also feel the impact of pepper spray in few places. But the city is still charming. Definitely going to come back to Chile and do a tour again when we have more time!
Very disappointed with this hour. Though I was aware that it was not a walking tour, I did expect to get an idea of the layout of the city and learn something about the sites and Santiago at large; however, my guide did not provide much information at all. (The only positive was that he was prompt; in fact, he arrived 30 minutes early.) Because of ongoing protests (November 2019), my hotel changed twice. Despite sending several messages through Viator and WhatsApp, I received no confirmation that my pick-up location was noted.
We enjoyed this half day overview/orientation tour. The guide (Lorena) was punctual and waited for us in the foyer of the building. We were the only people on this tour so we had the full attention of the guide. We got driven to the centre (Plaza del Armas) and then we had a bit of a walking tour in the surrounding streets. She showed us the centre of Santiago and told us a bit about the history, main attractions, significant historical events and figures. We had a bit of free time on Santa Lucia Hill to enjoy the views. Lorena gave us a lot of tips on where to go and what to see during our stay, showed us some of the main markets and in the end took us to the modern park in the new part of the city, where we enjoyed a walk. It was a pleasant informative tour.
Ismael was our guide. He was enthusiastic , passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Chile and Santiago. We appreciated his English fluency. His knowledge is deep.
