Itinerary
Our trip to Salt Mine will start with picking up from a previously determined place in Krakow from a hotel or apartment. The journey from Krakow to Wieliczka takes about 40 minutes. Information about your pick up time you will get one day before the trip.
Visiting the Wieliczka Salt Mine takes 3 hours. Before visiting, you will receive headphones to better hear the guide. The entire route is less than 3 km and there are over 800 stairs to climb. However, they are beaten in batches. Return to the top is the elevator.
After completing the tour, the driver will drop you to your hotel/hostel/apartament in Krakow

Pickup Locations & Times
-The pickup time may be up to 40 minutes earlier or later, depending on the location. However, the entire pickup process takes a maximum of 20–30 minutes. -Some of the hotels are in closed vehicle zones. Then the pickup will be from the nearest possible place. -You will be picked up by a minivan with a maximum of 8 seats. - If you don’t want to return to your hotel after the tour, the driver can drop you off in the city centre. However, the exact location will depend on his return route and can be agreed with him after the tour.

- Not recommended for people moving on crutches / walking stick
- There are around 800 steps to walk down, and it is not possible to avoid them by using a lift. Please keep this in mind when making your booking.
- If you are travelling with children, please note that prams cannot be taken down into the mine. For younger children, we recommend bringing a baby carrier.
- Some hotels in the city centre can only be accessed by vehicles during certain morning hours because they are located in pedestrian zones. If we are unable to drive directly to your hotel, we will send you a location pin for the nearest possible pickup point.
- All groups are guided by official guides working for the Wieliczka Salt Mine Museum. The tour takes place in a standard group of up to 35 people.

This is definitely the best way to experience the salt mine. The organization is professional, from booking and communication all the way to the actual execution. The driver was excellent, and on top of that we got an extra guide through him, who shared plenty of interesting informal details beyond the basics – a guide like that definitely deserves a lunch or dinner on you :) Communication went smoothly throughout, the guides were great, and the explanations were concise and packed with essential information, without unnecessary filler.

Excellent tour using welcomeinKrakow pre pick up info superb driver Mathius excellent and couldn't have done more. Slight downside Mine tour rushed would have liked another 20/30 minutes promised a 15 minute break in mine which was reduced to 6 on arrival at cafe toilets. This is a mine issue not the operator.

The driver picked us up right from our rental apartment. The driver explained all well in advance. The tour itself was very well organised. There is really a lot of walking inside the mine (ca 3,5 km). Driver also waited us on the exit and toon us to Krakow where we wanted.

Amazing salt mine with many salt statue and large cathedral at bottom. Caution, over 800 steps to the bottom, but well worth it.

Excellent trip. Well organised. The driver Konrad was on time, helpful and very friendly. The tour guide in the mine was called Isabella. She was fantastic, her in depth knowledge of the mines was astonishing plus she had a wicked sense of humour and that made the visit even better. My wife and I loved the tour it was well worthwhile.
