For you we have prepared a simple river trekking route that will allow you to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds the river in a relaxing walk with our boots. Suitable for all ages, river trekking allows you to enjoy the route inside the Alcantara Gorges in a quiet and peaceful way.

Welcomed by our staff, as soon as you arrive at the Center - Gole Cantarana, you will wear diving suits that will protect you from the low temperatures of the river water, and a canyoning helmet, we will move by car or van for about 200m, up to the municipal entrance of the Gorges. You will be accompanied by a guide who will explain to you the history of the formation of the Alcantara Gorges, and who will guide you on this one hour and fifteen minute tour, between photos and fun, you will have the opportunity to admire the Alcantara Gorges from the inside and part of the Alcantara river, at the end of the experience we will return by car to the excursion center.

We got there at 9.45 and no one was there. Called someone arrived and were able to join another group of 10:30. However, we only left at 10.45 without the other one because they had a different activity. On the Guide Fanjo nothing to criticize, very friendly and helpful. Once there, I felt fake. Local people walked in bikinis and we arrive at 35 degrees plus in a fisherman’s suit and a helmet. The only thing I missed was my fishing rod. You can buy your own tickets in the summer at the Alcatara and go through the water. Something a lot cheaper than €117,- for 3 people we paid. In itself a funny experience.
Nice trip through a beautiful gorge with clear blue water. Good equipment and guidance. Easy for inexperienced climbers
