The refuge is also the winter home of the Jackson herd of big horn sheep. During their December rut the rams put on a quite a show head-butting each other to win the right to mate with the ewes.

Joe was the most friendly and informative tour guide. We saw tons of wildlife and beautiful scenery (and avoided the crowds). Highly recommend this tour and Joe as your guide! Great for a family with kids too!
Thanks Kevin, I'll pass on your kind words to Joe. I hope the rest of your stay in Jackson was as enjoyable. Cheers Liam
Guide was excellent, very personal& engaging. Unfortunately, we only saw bison & deer. It may have been due to the weather or smoke .
Thanks Janelle. The wildlife viewings have been running hot and cold this week. I'm sorry you caught us on a slow day. I hope the smoke/haze didn't detract from the rest of your time in Jackson. Thanks Liam
Liam and his team did an amazing job on our tour! We saw an Osprey and her chicks, a herd of Bison and their babies. We also saw Brno, the male Grizzly. Then we had a great picnic and then saw a female Grizzly and her 2 cubs. On the way back we saw a herd of Elk. This is our second year booking them and will definitely do it again next year, these guys are awesome and very knowledgeable! Kari and Matt Texas
Kari and Matt, That was great tour: Right down to there being no mosquitoes by the lake to ruin your charcuterie board picnic! We will be glad to have you back next year. As we said changing it up to September when the elk are bugling, the bears are feasting on berries and the fall colors coming in would be a great plan. I'm not sure we can repeat a 2 grizzly sightings tour at the end of July again. Cheers Liam
Our guide Liam was very knowledgeable and our kids loved seeing all the animals. Would definitely recommend!
Thanks Scott, I had fun with you and your family and chatting about the tourism business. Sorry, we missed the grizzly, but I hope the close encounter with the road-side elk was equally impactful for the kids. Cheers Liam Cheers Liam
Superb. Mikki is excellent, knowledgeable and fun.
Thanks for taking the time to review us so long after the tour Christa. I hope that means you had a full and enjoyable remainder of your vacation. Cheers Liam
We had an amazing time. My main wish was to see a bear and we saw one within eight feet of us. We also got to see lots of elk, deer and birds. We saw one moose as well. The guide was super nice and knowledgeable. She answered all our questions about wildlife patiently. She was also funny.
I'm glad we could find you and your family a bear. It is by no means guaranteed, but we are happy to focus on bear areas if requested. Just to clarify for other readers, you were in the vehicle and the bear came close by. I would not like people to think that is the norm with bear sightings. We try and maintain a safe, respectful distance from all wildlife, which is 100 yards from bears and wolves, but sometimes when you are in a vehicle on a crowded, narrow, forested road the animal will decide to pass close to you. Thanks for appreciating your good fortune, being calm, quiet and letting the bear just go about its foraging.
Great experience! Brendan was our tour guide for the morning. He was very knowledgeable, and knew right where to go for the best spots! We saw Elk, Bison, Moose, and a Bald Eagle! We saw some great overlook sites too! Our family loved the experience. Brendan was also kind and understanding given my knee problems, and went slow and was very kind about it. 10/10 would recommend!
Thanks Leslie, I'll pass this onto Brendan. That was a good haul of sightings. The moose calf was definitely worth the short walk. Safe travels home.
Our Guide did a great job finding wild life. He was very knowledgeable about the area geography, history and the wildlife. We were able to see Bison, Moose, Elk, Deer, Pronghorn, Coyotes, Otters etc. We had a great time. Highly recommend Mikki.
Thanks Lino, I glad you got to see so much. I hope the otters put on a playful show. I'll pass your compliments on to Mikki. Cheers Liam
Mikki is an amazing tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife, Teton area, and spotted awesome animals for us to see!
Thanks Meg. I'll pass this on to Mikki. I'm glad you had a great time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our guide, Rachel. She was the right mix of knowledge, fun and enthusiasm. We saw moose, black and grizzly bear, antelope, buffalo. It was such a fun excursion. Highly recommend!
Thanks Nicole, I'll pass this onto Rachel. She said it was a standout tour in terms of the wildlife you saw. I'm glad you had a great time.
