Lisa is a star!

We had a really fantastic day with our tuk tuk driver Lisa - she was extraordinary driver. The jump into Blue lagoon was the momentum 👌 Only thing that was really poor was the lunch. Tasteless penne with tomatosauce, 5 year old kid could make that kind of food. Did not taste at all.

What a shambles!

What a shambles! After waiting half an hour for the mini van to arrive, they didn't have our booking and left without us saying there must be another pick up to follow. After 10 mins or so the first mini van returned and said there were no other minivans coming and made a call which allowed him to let us join his group. When we arrived at the dock the sea was so rough. We were told that if the sea was rough we would be using the ferry. This didn't happen. A small boat was tied to the jetty and buffeted around in an extremely dangerous way. There was no gang plank. Passengers were expected to jump on to the boat when it rocked close enough to the edge of the jetty. The only thing stopping the boat from escaping completely was one man on his knees holding a rope. A totally insufficient solution. Those passengers that managed to board the boat did so with the help of other passengers. The 'Yippee' team that Viator had out sourced this trip to were nowhere to be seen. We watched as a lady fell and hit her head getting on to the boat. We decided that this was unsafe and not worth the danger involved. We told them it was too dangerous, there was no safe way to board the boat and we were not getting on. They were uninterested. We looked for our driver but he had gone, there were no Viator agents or 'Yippee' agents on shore. Unsure what to do now as we were stranded, presumably until the boat returned, we ordered a cab and made our way back to the hotel. About 45 minutes after the boat had gone the agent called me to ask which boat I was on! When I explained she said, just go and get the ferry. This would have meant returning to the port, presumably at our own expense and also paying for the ferry, there was no mention of how to locate or meet the rest of the group. A total disgrace of a company do not waste your time or money on this trip.

Operator response

Thank you for your second review following the rejection of your request for a full refund. We would like to clarify a few points regarding your comments. We did pick you up as scheduled. While there was a delay due to traffic conditions in Malta, we still arrived in time for the boat departure. Out of approximately 150 clients participating in the tour, you were the only guests who refused to board the boat. We contacted you and offered an alternative solution by suggesting that you take the Gozo ferry to cross to Gozo. Contrary to what was stated in your review, you still had sufficient time to join the tour. However, rather than discussing how we could help you continue with the excursion, you refused the proposed solution and instead insulted our staff, stating that we were disorganised. Please note that crossing to Gozo by ferry is free of charge, and this option was offered solely to ensure that you could still participate in the tour. We regret that you chose not to proceed with the excursion despite the alternatives provided and our efforts to accommodate you.

Great value and fun

A great way to see Gozo. Boat captain was a great and fun entertainer. We managed to see everything with easy access and plenty of time at each site. Managed to fit in a couple of things not on the itinerary. Only criticism was that we couldn't hear driver shouting information over the noise of the engine, so some things remain a mystery.

Gozo visit in Tuk Tuk

Excellent excursion, the visit was just amazing with the Tuk Tuk. really enjoyed our day ! The only downfall was the meal. It was nothing traditionally considered Maltese cuisine unfortunately. ( a plate of pasta with very little plain tomato sauce)

Brilliant day out

Our guide Emilio was lovely. He had good knowledge of the areas we visited. He was friendly, considerate and polite. The tuktuk seats are quite small so could be tight for larger people. You need to be relatively fit to get in and out of them but a great way to get around.

Very disappointed

It is hard to give a review on a trip that never happened! Firstly we expected a pick up at 8am or a text to say otherwise. Neither happened. I tried to ring the numbers given but there was no answers. Finally a mini bus turned up at around 8.30 but we were told we were not booked on that. The driver told us we were on the next bus coming from Valletta, as was written on our itinerary. 10 mins or so after he had departed with his group, he returned to say there was no 'next bus' and after a few conversations on his phone we we're allowed to join his group. Our itinerary said that if the weather was bad we would be going on a ferry across to Gozo. The weather was not good, it was windy and the sea extremely choppy. No ferry was offered but instead we were expected to get on a small private boat. The boat was not securely tethered to the jetty, held only by one man and a rope. There was no gangplank or safety rope and people of all ages were expected to jump over the gap on a continually buffeting boat with it periodically smashing into the side of the jetty and then pushing itself away leaving a deadly gap between the boat and the jetty. This was incredibly dangerous. The only help given to the passengers to board was by other passengers. Handing children over the perilous gap, which was constantly changing in width. One lady fell and hit her head when the boat suddenly crashed into the jetty. My party decided this was totally unsafe and chose not to risk the very real possibility of falling between the boat and the jetty. We told the attendant watching of our decision. We looked for a Yippee rep or a viator rep but there were none to be found. So were left stranded and were forced to make our way back to our hotel in a cab. During our trip back a Yippee representative called me to ask which boat I was on. I told her of the situation and she said we should take the ferry instead but it was too late, we were already on our way back and totally fed up. Viator have never let us down before but this was a huge disappointment and proved to be a very costly morning with nothing to show for it.

A must do activity!

Goodness me, what a day trip! And a must do, even if it was an early start being picked up at 8:15. Lovely boat trip to Gozo and met by Mario, an excellent guide and TukTuk driver who made the day fun and enjoyable. Lunch was at 2pm, so do take a late morning snack, or buy something at one of the stops, if you might be hungry by then. The boat trip back was excellent too. A long, but very enjoyable day.

Hectic but great

1+hour minibus ride from Valletta to the port due to traffic. Great way to see Gozo with fun guides. Due to traffic you may not see all the "promised" sites (we missed Fontana Cottage and Ggantija) and in order to cover the island you have limited time at each stop. For me, we could have skipped the market which would have freed up more time (and saved me money 😃). Boat crew also friendly but again, due to traffic, we only had 30 mins at Blue Lagoon. If you want to swim, be prepared as there's only one small bathroom to change in. Very chaotic finding your minibus upon returning to Malta but still a quick process. Highly recommend.
