Fantastic tour led by people who are truly passionate about the island and it's wildlife/flora/culture. Our guides were very involved in studying the wildlife and preserving nature, and they were very nice to chat with. They offer everything you need to do snorkeling; life jackets, flippers, snorkels, & wetsuits (the water is pretty cold, so I wouldn't skip out on putting this on) but you do need to bring your own towel if you plan on going in the water. The boat is really cool, and we were taken around Ilhéu de Vila Franca do Campo, giving us a very good look at it without having to set foot onto it. (Trips to the islet are limited and can require booking in advance) Parking in this area can be a little tricky/busy, and finding the meeting point can be a little confusing with everything happening on the docks. So come early and give yourself time to check in / suit up.
We had a great time snorkeling and enjoying the boat trip! Edmundo the captain was so great with our kids. He was key to the experience! My son who is 9 didn’t want to go in the water but Edmundo convinced it would be a great experience. Oliver gained the courage to jump off the boat and snorkel enjoying the sea life. We saw octupus, starfish, tons of schools of fish. An amazing time! Thank you Edmundo!!!
