Itinerary
Departing from Glasgow in the morning, we travel north, pausing for refreshments in the highland town of Tyndrum, before continuing onwards to Glencoe.
We arrive in Glencoe. The Glen is arguably one of Scotland's most famous glens, and features in James Bond's 'Skyfall'; spend time soaking up the dramatic atmosphere, as well as taking some fantastic photos, and learn all about the history of the Massacre of Glencoe.
Travelling through more unparalleled highland scenery, we reach the town of Fort William. We will stop for lunch in the loch-side town, where you can enjoy stunning views across the lochs, as well as taking a look at Ben Nevis, Britain’s tallest mountain, which sits just outside of the town.
After our stop in Fort William, our one-day Glenfinnan tour travels eastwards to the main attraction of the day; Glenfinnan Viaduct, famous for its many appearances in the Harry Potter movies. During the summer months, you will also be able to see the iconic view of the Jacobite Steam Train (or Hogwarts Express) crossing the viaduct. Don’t forget your camera! Surrounded by mountains on the shores of Loch Shiel, the Glenfinnan Monument symbolises one of the most important events in Scottish history; the 1745 Jacobite Uprising. We spend approximately one hour at the monument, with enough time to learn the history of the Jacobites and for you to get some iconic photos of the magnificent bridge and the stunning surrounding area, steeped in Scottish history. Please note: the Jacobite Steam Train is operated by a third party and as such we cannot guarantee that it will be running or that your tour will meet up with it in time to see it cross the viaduct.
From Glenfinnan, we begin our journey back to Glasgow, and very soon we cross over a canal with a series of locks on the right called Neptune’s Staircase. It is part of the Caledonian Canal, which along with four lochs, allows boats and ships to make a 96 km journey from the west to the east side of Scotland. A true feat of Scottish engineering.
We continue our journey south, heading past the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. We will stop here at Tarbet for a comfort break before our tour continues and we return back to Glasgow.

Taylor and Blair were friendly, informative, and funny. Taylor did a fabulous job of driving the bus and giving great insight about the landmarks and relevant people that were tied to them. They were very accommodating and reworked the schedule to see the train cross the track (it was not the steam train but that’s out of their control). They added Scottish music to listen to on the bus which was a really nice touch. We also loved our fun surprise at the end!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Highlands tour from Glasgow with Timberbush. The landscapes were stunning, but the highlight was our guide and driver, Jack W. His humour, local knowledge, professionalism, and genuine care for guests made the experience exceptional. One of the best tour guides I've ever had! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hi there! Thank you so much for your kind words! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time on tour with Jack! He is known for always giving his tours a personal touch. We're very glad you had a chance to experience this when out on tour and that this helped make your tour extra special. We hope to welcome you back on tour with us someday soon! Best wishes, Elizabeth
Great all-day trip to the western Highlands with Jack W as our tour guide. He was fantastic. Lots of great information the whole way up and then quiet on the return back. Loads of good humor too. Very caring for the tourists and he had a full coach for the trip we were on. Great sites with a mix of movie filming and real history. Learned a lot. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Our tour guide, Taylor was knowledgeable and very caring of me. I walk with a cane. I was late to the pickup point because I had a fall. Taylor was funny and kind. He made this cold and rainy Highland trip wonderful. Wear a raincoat and galoshes.
Firstly may I say how good and considerate our guide Taylor was. Very informative and thoughtful, especially looking after 2 ladies (one who was travel sick, another who was older and less mobile) Tour itself was soaking wet, although scenery was amazing. Seeing the HP viaduct was great. I think more stop offs for photos would be good, and less stops for food or refreshments. Although our weather wasnt good at all, this part of Scotland still looks amazing in the rain.
Our guide was lovely. The trip, if one had to summarise it is driving past lots of pretty scenery and stopping (mostly) at places which one would describe as tourist traps where you can buy souvenirs. I would think this tour would be improved by more time spent stopping at places for photographs ( like the lochs) and less " stop for a toilet break at a tourist cafe/souvenir shop" If I was asked by a friend of I would do this again or recommend I would say no.
Great day out best we have had, driver had great knowledge and was very helpful and was good fun all
What an amazing day! Our guide Michelle was the perfect mix of historian, storyteller and amazingly expert driver. From Scotland's fascinating history to the surprising origins of everyday phrases like "daylight robbery," she kept us entertained and learning the whole way. We arrived safely, laughed a lot, and left with memories (and fun facts!) we'll be sharing for years. Thank you for making the journey just as unforgettable as the destinations!
Our small group had a great experience on this all-day tour with Taylor. Many stops for beautiful views and photos and enough opportunities to grab food and drinks. The highlight was the Glenfinnan viaduct, where we saw the Jacobite steam train passing, and Glencoe with lovely views and a really interesting visitors' centre. This is a great way to see the Highlands in a comfortable way if you're short on time.
We had a well spoken, bantering driver/guide named Jack W. The information was excellent. From the moment we left Glasgow we knew exactly enter we were going and what we were doing. The sites we went to were amazing. Absolutely loved our day out.
