Not only was this fortress an important setting for the series, but it also offers spectacular views over the old town and the Adriatic sea.

From here the ferry is leaving to Lokrum Island.
Lokrum is a beautiful island just off the coast and was the setting for the city "Qarth". The highlight is a picture on the official Iron Throne in the throne room located in the Benedictine Monastery of the Island. Afterwards you can stay on the island enjoy some nature. It offers opportunities for swimming, hiking, cliff diving as well as restaurants and bars. Ferry is leaving every half hour/hour (depending on the time of the season) and the crossing takes only 15 minutes.

Really fun experience especially for fans of the show. Our tour guide Darko not only knew of all the filming locations but also gave us a brief history of Dubrovnik as well as Croatia as a whole. I will "warn" there is quite a lot of steps. But our tour guide took his time and didn't rush anyone. He was also very aware of where the shaded area would be so when he was discussing things at length he would stop the tour there so we wouldn't be baking in the sun. My partner and I didn't end up taking the boat to Lokrum and sit on the iron throne so I cannot speak to that part of the tour but everything else was very fun and informational. Truly a breathtaking city.
Our guide Davor had tons of detailed knowledge + personal anecdotes around GoT locations on the trip and in other countries, - deliveres with a lot of humor. Highly recommendes !

Sadly I I could not finish the tour, the island portion, because of a pulled muscle but up until that point the tour was wonderful. One of the best parts was our guide Favor. Lots of detail and fun facts about the filming and a dry sense of humor. If I could pick a guide it would be him. Great experience and I would would recommend highly l!
