Itinerary

Pass by

Very early we will leave Ushuaia, after breakfast, where, after the pick up from the hotels, we will begin to travel along National Route 3.

15 min

We will take a short break to use toilets and then continue our march.

Admission included45 min

This captivating adventure takes us through time to a wonderful natural landscape, along the Ruta de las Estancias, and in the company of forests, ecotone and guanacos, towards the imposing ¨Desdémona". After bordering Lake Fagnano, we will continue on our way to cross paths with the access to the complementary route "A", to enter for more than 40 km towards the sea. We will thus arrive at Cabo San Pablo. This route winds through picturesque ranches and offers us incredible landscapes of hills, lenga forests, rivers and cliffs that reach the sea, and it is also very common to find herds of sheep, guanacos, foxes and condors.

30 min

Our first stop will be Cabo Ladrillero, where we will have our country snack on the banks of the Ladrillero River, and we will contemplate the whimsical, authentic and pristine landscape, where huge stones of a particular geoform will surprise us. Likewise, Cabo Ladrillero is a site with a particularity that distinguishes it. After the snack and our walk, we will continue to our next attraction, the San Pablo Lighthouse (Depending on the tide conditions, the boat Desdemona could be visited first and then the walk to the lighthouse).

Admission included45 min

We will reach the top of the cape through a path. Once at the top, there is the old leaning lighthouse, and in front of its shores, the rusty hull of the ship "Desdémona" ran aground there in the early 1980s, giving it a dose of mystery typical of the End of the World, and as an example of the past of shipwrecks and adventures that took place in the brave southern seas.

Admission included60 min

At the end of the walk to the lighthouse, we will go to the "Casa del Pescador", to taste the best recipes of "Róbalo", fresh local fish, put on the table with the best recipes of the fishermen's family. You will taste delicious empanadas of smoked bass, or shellfish, the house specialty, as well as Bass on pizza, unique at the end of the world. At the end of lunch, in the midst of anecdotes from the place of influence, we will go to see the boat Desdemona, an icon of the region. Our local restaurant with a panoramic view of Barco Desdemona. You will feel at home, cared for by the owners themselves, in a warm atmosphere, and with fresh catch-of-the-day recipes.

Admission included30 min

Depending on the tide, we can make this visit before or after lunch. We will tour the outside of the ship, in its entirety, to appreciate its imposing silhouette that represents an icon for the region since 1985, when it ran aground after a journey that took it to the city of Ushuaia for the delivery of twenty thousand bags of cement. , with twenty crew members on board.

Admission included35 min

One of the main attractions of the day are the estancias located on Complementary Route A. We will visit the authentic Estancia Pirinaica. With its almost 100 years of Patagonian production, it has wonderful facilities, which we are going to discover. We are going to experience country life, shearing, as well as get to know work spaces such as carpentry, shearing sheds, ranch house and the forest and environment that the ranch has. We will then enjoy a snack in the ranch's own style, with regional products prepared locally.

Pass by

After all this captivating day, we will return to Ushuaia, where we estimate to arrive around 6:00 p.m.

Go off the beaten path

Go off the beaten path. It was special because we did something unusual like visiting a lighthouse beaten by the winds and a ship wreck. Thanks to our guide Cesar.

Very good excursion, I recommend it!!!

Very good excursion. Luis chauffeur with the best vibe explaining everything. First we stopped at the Garibaldi Pass to take some photographs and know the history of the pass. Then we had breakfast in the Pyrenees room, where we also met on sheep shearing, then we passed by the St. Paul's Lighthouse, then we had lunch in the Recalda room, we were greeted by its owners, divine, very rich food. We visit the boat Desdemona, finally return to Ushuaia passing through the bakery Union in Tolhuin

Scam! Don’t book with this operator

This trip is a scam. I was not picked up and the operator would not return my calls. This despite communicating with me the evening before the tour. Very disappointed! My overall experience in Ushuaia has been fantastic.

Everything was perfect.

It was a total and highly recommended experience! Luis, another chauffeur guide a genius. Franchesco, Susana, Daniela and Luis, other companions in this adventure, made it a wonderful day. Thank you for the attention of Sol de Kaitek and Maria and her husband, for the warmth of their hospitality in their stay.

Pros and cons to this trip

Cons: When the group tour stated no more than 12 people maximum, we expected that we would spend the 6 hours round trip driving time in a van…we assumed wrong. It was 6 adults in a Chevy trailblazer. With the edition of a Spanish only speaking guest, our English guided tour quickly became Spanish with only perhaps 10% of the conversation translated to English. I could follow bits and pieces, but my husband didn’t understand much at all. Pros: the Estancia meal was delicious and the host, a former tour guide did a fabulous job explaining things for us English speakers. We enjoyed the walk around the property The shipwreck Desdémona was cool to see and walk around it at low tide. And we enjoyed hiking up to the light house. Tip: the bathroom stop in Toulhuin was at a bakery, fun to watch the bakers in the morning , and buy some of the fresh churros with dulce de leche, which were delicious.

Beautiful experience

An amazing experience. It is to know another landscape different from what is usually seen from snowy mountains. Beautiful everything, the coast is spectacular, and the super cozy rooms, allows you to get into the rural life of the place. We could see during the trip guanacos, gray fox, woodpecker and other birds. The super attentive guide to make this excursion the best experience. And even made material with photos and videos of our tour. A genius indeed!
