Little India in Bangkok, known locally as ‘Phahurat Market’, is just a short walk from the city’s famous Chinatown, not too far away from the banks of the Chao Phraya River.
It is Bangkok’s oldest and largest temple. The gigantic gold plated reclining Buddha with inlaid mother-of-pearl soles is highly revered among Buddhists.
This city landmark should be the first place on any visitor’s itinerary, which features some of the most spectacular architecture in South East Asia. The palace begun in 1782. It is a consisting of several building with highly decorated architectural designs.
The magnificent Royal Chapel, Wat Phra Kaeo in the same compound enshrines the Emerald Buddha Image, most revered by people.
The most attractive in this temple is the pagoda Khmer - style. Wat arun was restored during brief Thonburi period to be the Royal Chapel of King Taksin.

We loved this full-day private tour! (Just my wife and I, along with our amazing guide Panu and driver) If you just have one day to see as much as possible - this is a great way to do it! We visited all the numerous major temples, palaces and attractions. Our guide had the energy to take us everywhere we wanted (and needed to see) including (at our request ) dropping us off at the Maha Nakhon "Broken Building" for a hundred story glass bottom Skywalk with 360' views of Bangkok and directions on how to experience the train to get back to our hotel. This was a great and memorable day in Bangkok - I'd give this tour and Panu (guide) an A+
