Itinerary
Departure from Vilnius to Hill of Crosses
Lithuania's fabled Hill of Crosses is a symbol of defiance as much as a pilgrimage site. More than 200,000 crosses have been planted on this low hill, many of them strung with rosary beads that rattle softly in the breeze. The tradition began during the 1831 Uprising and reached its height in the 1960s, in defiance of anti-religious Soviet rule. At night locals crept here to lay crosses, infuriating their oppressors.
Visit of unique and authentic Lithuanian village and it exposition.

If you are visiting Lithuania, you should do this experience. The Hill of Crosses is a very poignant and beautiful place, it really is incredible in-person and worth the day trip. Besides the landmark itself, this experience is worth it for the knowledge and stories of the tour guides. On the drive to/from the site, we were thoroughly engrossed by Martynas and his rich knowledge of Lithuania. From history and religion to farming and invasive plants, Martynas' encyclopedic knowledge of the country made for a wonderfully informative and enjoyable experience. We were also given the chance to shape the experience as well; on the way back, our guide suggested a few options to add into the tour for no extra cost. Our visit to the Lost Shtetl Museum was unexpected when booking but another highlight from a great day. The warmth and hospitality of the guides, ensuring that each experience is customized and made as enjoyable as possible for every guest, cannot be understated. Highly highly recommend for anyone!
