From Cortona Brunello di Montalcino Wine Tour with Lunch

Our experience with Johnny and his family was absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of our trip to Tuscany. Johnny picked us up in Cortona and drove us to his family’s vineyard and winery, which is located about an hour and a half away. Unlike many commercial wine tours, this was a truly authentic family experience. Johnny and his family own the vineyard and cellar themselves, and they took the time to explain every step of the winemaking process in detail while patiently answering all of our questions. We are far from wine experts, but they made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the entire visit. The food was equally unforgettable. Johnny’s mother prepared the most delicious homemade pici pasta we had during our stay in Italy. The flavors rivaled, and in some cases surpassed, those we experienced at Michelin-starred restaurants in Cortona. You could truly taste the love, tradition, and generations of family cooking in every bite. As if that wasn’t enough, Johnny went above and beyond by making additional stops on the way back to Cortona, including a beautiful local monastery and several stunning villas that were not part of the scheduled tour. It felt less like a tour and more like spending the day with friends who genuinely wanted to share their home, culture, and family traditions with us. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Tuscany. We are already planning to come back, and next time we hope to stay at their resort as well.
