There is no better way to enjoy an afternoon of your trip than to visit the Zaanse Schans windmills, an area that was the economic engine of the country between the 16th and 18th centuries, as the Dutch took advantage of the force of the wind to grind the spices they brought from their colonies, make oils, mustards, paper, cocoa... Our specialist guides will explain its curious operation and accompany you to a clog workshop where they will show us live how traditional Dutch footwear is made. We will also visit a cheese shop where we can taste a wide variety of Dutch cheeses and explain the process of making the famous Gouda cheeses. Today we participated in the “Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam and Marken” tour; here in the Netherlands. 🇳🇱 My husband, Tufano Cataldo, and I had a lot of fun; wonderful places with an extraordinary history. Aromas and flavors of wonderful places. We are very grateful to our guide, in Spanish, the very fun and friendly "Fanni". He told us every little detail about the cities visited. Holly was very good. Driver (Rico) should have turned on the A/C when there were people on board waiting to leave. It was stinking hot. Also, dont wait for late people- it’s not the guide’s fault at all.
It was excellent! The guides were really nice, we had 2 languages: Spanish and English. The town is close to Amsterdam and it is an open museum.
It was difficult to understand the guide because his accent was so heavy.
